davocano Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 Saw a white Renault Supercinq on French plates when out walking today. Couldn't chase it for pics 'cos my dog would have slowed me down (also, didn't have camera).
Ghosty Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 Concerto saloon! The driver liked my Civic too.
Zelandeth Posted December 4, 2018 Posted December 4, 2018 E-plate Transit ...oddly not rough as old boots...spotted this evening. Heard it way before I saw it...been too long since I'd heard the racket of the old DI engine being ragged to death turning into the main road. I'm pretty sure I'd not actually want to live with that engine (I'll stick with my comparatively refined Merc OM.601 thanks...), but it's such a distinctive backdrop especially to the early 90s that it doesn't half trigger some nostalgia for me... Trying to figure out how someone has managed to find a tidy 80s Transit...and ideally find and borrow their time machine... LightBulbFun 1
ProgRocker Posted December 8, 2018 Posted December 8, 2018 This morning I saw a metallic golden brown Hillman Imp on the eastbound lane of the A47, just south of Norwich. Getting a run in the sunshine before the clouds descend.
DVee8 Posted December 26, 2018 Posted December 26, 2018 A boxing day ride to Seaburn in Sunderland, revealed a Vauxhall Tigra ,a Citroen Xantia,a Bobby Ewing Mercedes SL and to top it all off a Vauxhall Carlton diplomat in that deep red/burgundy colour.
mercrocker Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 I followed an exceptionally clean looking K registered Cavalier Mk3 through town today. Local car, still had Picador Vauxhall dealer plates and was resplendent in doom blue with plakky wheel trims. Not really my thing - I peaked with the Mk1 - but bloody lovely to see it.
Mrs6C Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 A white C15 in the wild, in Llandrindod Wells, spotted today from the train. A shed photobombed my picture of it.
Datsuncog Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 Text message from MrsDC:Mustard colour Marina on Newtownards Road. Couldn't get a pic. XUB 731S Lacquer Peel, ProgRocker, LightBulbFun and 1 other 4
ProgRocker Posted December 31, 2018 Posted December 31, 2018 Whilst sitting at traffic lights this morning: a white post 1986 Volvo 340 DL or GL saloon!
danthecapriman Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 Couple of nice spots out and about today. First was an immaculate D reg Capri in a dark green colour. It was coming down the road towards me in traffic, driver saw me ogling at it so I gave him the thumbs up which he seemed pleased about smiling back. Second was a 1959 or 60 Buick Invicta on the A27 on the back of a recovery truck. Lookedlike it had just arrived in this country as I think it still had US plates on. Very very nice car though so someone’s having a great start to 2019. mercrocker 1
mercrocker Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 I was beguiled by the sight of Daytona Yellow Elan (Sprint, I think) yesterday. So mesmerised, in fact, I completely failed to notice the Snapdragon Princess behind it. Apparently he was waving to the Cowley. Sorry fella....Too much yeller on the road at once!
davocano Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 F148PRK The third Nissan Prairie that I've seen in my locale since 2018 started. I toyed with the idea of chasing it in the vain hope of a photo opp but I have* a life, yeah?
Asimo Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Brown W-plate Allegro crawling through a drizzly Hereford yesterday morning.
155V6 Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 White Citroen CX on a recovery truck on the A31 near Farnham, yesterday or Thursday.
MorrisItalSLX Posted January 17, 2019 Posted January 17, 2019 An utterly beautiful cream Peugeot 404 saloon driven by a gifferette. It's a local car so hopefully a photo can be obtained.
AlabamaShrimp Posted January 17, 2019 Posted January 17, 2019 1990 mk1 mister2 last night in a very busy car park. Another one that's been a long time since I saw one.
davocano Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 HHC389 - glimpsed the rear of this strange looking thing as it went past me; a bit like a UPS truck designed by a seven year old. Front wheels all sticky-out from the arches; sounded a bit V8 tho. G395WJM - Bluebird hatchback; drove off just as I approached with camera. Bugger.
mercrocker Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 HHC389 comes up as 1996 Ford - 5000cc which lends weight to your V8 theory. Probably based on an E Series......
mercrocker Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 How wrong I was......Says 1996 but its actually a '48! Seems it is one of those pesky catering vans, too... Presumably running some sort of late-model front end clip judging by the engine capacity and that rim offset.... davocano, Squire_Dawson and danthecapriman 3
Vantman Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 1959 Lincoln Continental in a bright red colour at Lydd Airport on Sunday,i hung around for a while for the owner but he didn't show up! danthecapriman 1
mercrocker Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 Probably my barber's car. His is a '58, though....
danthecapriman Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 Good day for spotting shite today. I was driving though, hence no pics. First was a Bedford CF custom van and a Triumph Acclaim in Bognor. Then a rough as fuck chrome bumper MGB on the A3 just north of Petersfield. Looked like a daily driver.A driveway full of decaying MG’s and a Minor up near Hindhead. Then the unusual occurrence of spotting two elderly French classics within minutes of each other!First was a brown Renault 20 just outside Portsmouth. I’ve seen this a few times, it’s a local car and the guy dailies it! He’s also got a Renault 30.Then shortly after I spotted a 1980, early shape, Renault 5 near Cosham. Not a bad days spotting for this time of year! mercrocker and Vantman 2
Murzyn Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 saw a LHD K12 micra this morning on the commute. UK registered.
anonymous user Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 Just been down to Briton Ferry and back, just as I was passing J40 on the M4 a nice red Marina estate pulled onto the motorway behind me. danthecapriman 1

Justin Case Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 No camera with me as I was just coming back from the school run, but coming the other way I passed a red R reg Escort. Only slightly remarkably remarkable in itself, but the driver was actually SMOKING A PIPE I don't think I've ever seen that before, even in the days when smoking was more common.
danthecapriman Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 That'll be these two then. 14918305980_1060fd0d15_o.jpg14645404225_80e340637a_o.jpgIt is indeed! I keep seeing them both now and again around the local area. I think one of them was in PC mag awhile back too. davocano 1
puddlethumper Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 Saw an F, prefix Honda CRX yesterday and today an R reg Starlet. Never seen either before. Came up beside the Starlet at lights and we acknowledged each others chod.
STUNO Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Beautiful sunny. road right beside the sea, and along came one of these. Absolutely gleaming wood and mid blue paint, i'm even sure it was RHD as the lady sitting left was holding her hat and the gent (60's- 70's) looked to be just enjoying the drive.1947 Ford Sportsman, apparently only a few thousand were made. It is the car you don't expect to see. anonymous user, mercrocker, danthecapriman and 1 other 4
