Corsa C DisComfort - seat upgrade recommendations plz

Recommended Posts

Hi all

As per title, the pink Corsa of driving school duties is failing to live up to its trim spec. We thought we'd get used to the seats - we haven't - they're still uncomfortable. Anyone got a recommendation for a bolt-in replacement that would offer better comfort?

Hammer an old ford over it ford seats are usually comfortable

Some angle iron, welder and a massive velour armchair out of an omegawd?

You don't so much sit in Corsa seats as sit on them. I think you'd struggle to be honest as the fixings at the base would be different so might involve a bit of fabrication and welding. I'd try some Vectra seats or Mk4 Astra seats. Might be too wide though.

GM innit so slam in some electric leather chairs from a Saab 9-5.

or if you like leather, try and find some SXI+ seats

My 55plate Corsa C SXi seats werent too bad either, the problem with the lower spec models is the seats are flat so you just slide about in them, the SXI ones are more bolstered and comfier.

If you find Corsa C seats uncomfortable then mk4 Astra or Vectra B seats wont do, they are just as uncomfortable, unless you can find Vectra B SRi cloth or half leather sporty seats, if Astra H SRi/Design seats fit they might be a shout, theyre quite comfy. Corsa D and E seats are also uncomfortable. Think Vectra C ones are OK but probably too big for a Corsa. All newer Vauxhall seats arent particularly comfy either, its one of the main drawbacks of driving a Vauxhall regularly.

I could never get on with the Astra G (MK4) seats. Just as bad as the seats in the MiL Corsa C. Not really been in a Astra H for years, but my mate moans about his girlfriend's Astra H seats all the time.

Verdict, all Vauxhall seats are shit.

Total agreement about astra g seats - just awful.

Old vectra b ones are fine tho

Whatever is in the Zafira is awful, the meriva was as well. You sit on them, theres no lumbar support, and because I can never be arsed to spend 5 minutes adjusting them for a 5 mile drive every so often I never bother. Plus the one time I did I couldn't push the pedals properly because you push them down and not back, so up high suits it.

Amy's old corsa c sxi was never quite so bad, but I had a puma at the time so was probably more used to hard seats, a succession of citroens has adjusted my comfort-ometer... Even the gooner isn't that sinky and comfy but because every part adjusts it gets away with it.

Find a citroen xm front seat in velour and hammer it in place, pure luxury right there!

My Astra H Design had the same seats as youe Zafira, sportier ones, same middle cloth pattern but real leather bolsters and sides, quite comfy I thought. Also Zafira SRi seats do have lumar support, theres a wheel on the side of the seat backrest centre console/handbrake facing side to adjust it.

Ah yes, there is a lever. It doesn't seem to do anything...

The first time I need to drive it any great distance I'll have more of a fiddle. For going up the road I adjust the rear view mirror, whatever wing mirror I need to park and lob the seat right back

Where exactly are you getting the discomfort? Standard C seats aren't the most supportive.

Never had a problem with the seats in my Coupe in the 12 years I've had it. Quite strongly bolstered and the lumbar support is brilliant as I get pain there if not supported firmly. You can even get ones with a pull-out section to support the backs of your legs.

Vectra B seats - LOL. Comfy but the leather CDX ones I fitted had little lateral support so you slide around on corners.

I'd recommend the seats from a sporting Astra G any day, just make sure you pick them from a higher range model like a Coupe so they have the full range of adjustments available. They should be a straight fit.
