OUTAGE: autoshite.com showing default website template

Hi all,

Apologies for the prolonged outage. At approximately midday autoshite.com went offline. Shortly thereafter, my access to the server was removed. I can't tell you anything more than that.

As a result, I have restored the data from right up to the outage to our new server and here we are. Once the domain is updated, autoshite.com will point here and everyone can go about their business. The only person who can do that is Electric Leyland.

Please carry on posting here, everything from here will be moved to the permanent board unless something terrible goes wrong.

There may be links still pointing to autoshite.com - please let me know if you find them and I'll fix them as I can. I've already done all of the ones I could find except the three in the header, which I'll get to as soon as I find where they are defined.

All the best,

Slartibartfast

Good work. Was there issues or has a person removed your access from the server?

That is a most excellent question and one that I am unable to answer.

If, and i say if it was a person, that's bang out of order being on shitefest day.

No access through tapatalk.

Keep up the good work, I like this place.

Yes, sorry about Tapatalk, I suspect that won't start working again until autoshite.com is fixed.

Oh wow.

If I'm proved right, and that's an IF, I think a few people have a bit of apologising to do. Not the sort that a kid does, but proper genuine heartfelt apologising.

I hope I'm wrong, that I'm too cynical for my own good and that this was just a complete coincidence.

We'll see. That is...if the transparency allows.

Apart from a couple of icons invisible on Android phone, working just fine right here, seems swift too.

I see the speculation and suspicion as to root cause didn't take long

And that right there is ITDR in action.

BTW, http://petsnwildlife.uk is still up, which one assumes is totes unrelated.

Post mortems come at the end. For the moment, well done to the team; good recovery!

Nice work getting it back up after the deliberate takedown outage of unknown origins

Probably wasn't exactly how you'd planned the switchover but in a way it has expedited putting the whole hosting saga behind us

Call me out on this please as I hate to think bad of people but is there something a bit suspect going on? Bit of a coincidence with the bad blood flowing between people here but who am I to judge?

Seems fairly obvious what has probably happened but there seems little point banging on about it extensively.

I'd like to also add my thanks to the admin types, not only for the smooth changeover but also all the work that's clearly gone in behind the scenes to make it so.

Fucking Chinese hackers and their love of chod!

Oh you say it's not the Chinese this time? Unknown circumstances you say? Good job I like pets and wildlife then, don't know what I would have done if that place had closed.

A proper thanks to all involved in trying to sort this and bring it back. I know it's not been easy or will be but we all appreciate it.

+1 to the comments above. An outage of the .com address has only served to further boost your heroism in my eyes.

Well done to all involved in managing to source the Stomils at short notice and getting them fitted successfully. Just waiting for the wheels to be balanced now, but it's minor detail ;)

Onwards and upwards!
