BorniteIdentity Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 Props to my man Trig who gave me the heads up on this. Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/152568965654 It does numberwang the bASe because 1.3. It is also in grave danger because the 1.3 diffs were always very popular with our friends what like to get dizzy whilst driving. Who's in? rantingYoof Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 Ironically 'lots of spiders' would turn me into a very fast runner. Supernaut 1
Faker Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 That's got a pinto! Is that right?!! A 1.3 pinto??? AlabamaShrimp and AMC Rebel 2
BorniteIdentity Posted June 1, 2017 Author Posted June 1, 2017 That's got a pinto! Is that right?!! A 1.3 pinto???Yes. Absolutely correct. AMC Rebel 1
sierraman Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 It's got the later 85 on grille. AMC Rebel and adw1977 2
danthecapriman Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 That's got a pinto! Is that right?!! A 1.3 pinto???Yes. A 1.3 Pinto is a rare beast now. I can't believe that still exists at all nevermind in largely unmodified form. Sadly it's unlikely to remain so. I can't take it on because of another old Ford (which is also ironically a base...) eating up all my cash and time but I could chip in for a group buy?
AlabamaShrimp Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 That's got a pinto! Is that right?!! A 1.3 pinto???This is what I thought. You can already see its got potential Cosworth written all over it Anyway if there's a group buyage thing I'll chuck some in.
Tamworthbay Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 I could be up for a few quid for group buy scenario.
Alfamale Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 Got excited then, thought it was the one remaining Sao Penza. somewhatfoolish, Dick Cheeseburger, egg and 2 others 5
RoadworkUK Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 I like the cunning wordplay in the title, as in 'full of holes'.
Dick Cheeseburger Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 Despite rarenessness, it looks relatively borked. Bids already as well - I wonder if the 'Cossie crew' will bid it up something silly?
fordperv Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 Hnnnnnggggg i wanted a 1.3, glaciers move faster than the 1.3 pinto, I have 2 1.6 3 door sierras at my house danthecapriman and BorniteIdentity 2
andy18s Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 1.3 pinto head used to be in big demand for motorsport types running a Big feckoff race engineThe extra metalwork in the casting meant the inlet and exhaust ports could be machined for perfect airflow, twin spark plugs ect...This will go for some serious money I reckon fordperv 1
strangeangel Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 I see only two problems with this otherwise flawless plan: 1) it's fucked2) it's at £560 with six days left on the listing Dave_Q, AMC Rebel, alf892 and 2 others 5
D Spares & Tyres Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 This will end its days as a lightening rod No big loss, it looks a right nail trigger, Cavcraft and richardthestag 3
Shep Shepherd Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 It was first registered on my 6th birthday Slartibartfast and BorniteIdentity 2
NorfolkNWeigh Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 The chances of that still having a 1300 in it are very slim. About the time it acquired the later grille, lights, driver's door, RS Alloys and steering wheel, I'm sure a 2.0 accidentally fell in and the teenage owner forgot* to change the logbook.I can see that making a couple of grand. strangeangel 1
Cavcraft Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 Holy grail? Doesn't look like a Cavalier Mk2 1.6SR to me! I do expect it's going to make far more money than it's actually worth, if it hasn't already. RobT and rantingYoof 2

Noel Tidybeard Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 Holy grail? Doesn't look like a austin maestro 1.3 base to me! FIFY Rusty_Rocket and BorniteIdentity 2
Noel Tidybeard Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 It certainly looks like it from the pic. aye all the 16s and 2 litres i've ever seen had a round(ish) air cleaner BorniteIdentity 1
John F Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 Grrr, clickbait... I thought someone had actually found a Lonsdale. Agree with the above btw, the Sierra is already too expensive & will fetch more. mk2_craig 1
sierraman Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 Looks like a right nail. Stuff like those door cards that are bashed to fuck won't be easy to replace neither.
lisbon_road Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 Decent Sierras are still cheap. I wouldn't touch that with the proverbial barge pole, personally for all the reasons people have said. They'll think it is really popular as we'll all be watching it!
adw1977 Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 Decent Sierras are still cheap. Unfortunately none of them are 1.3 three door base models! This one is unlikely to be affordable, sadly.
CortinaDave Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 i had a B reg sierra 1.3 pinto around 2000 and it was a right snotter. soul destroying acceleration and seas of grey inside. yet i liked it! i scrapped it at a local yard for 60 quid then saw it back on the road plodding along the motorway a month later BorniteIdentity and mk2_craig 2
D Spares & Tyres Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 Ironically being placed in a (technically)non contact racing formula will probably prolong its life. I know of a mini stock ( the ones with cages welded round the outside ) that was built in the eighties and it is still going now. I doubt it would have survived in its original incarnation! mk2_craig and BorniteIdentity 2
fordperv Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 It certainly looks like it from the pic.Looks more like a 2.0 capri airbox to me Iirc the 1.3 used the vv carb so wouldve had the round airbox with the star on the lid Also I wonder where its vin plate is??
