Otherwise it'll be the wifes samba green Honda CRX.

Bring this. And the v5.

I'll bring a brown envelope.

Nice one.

Never really met anyone from AS, but seriously considering this if I don't have to work. Anyone coming from the north via the A1?

Posted

Definitely will bring my secret* car to this. It hopefully will be cleaned between now and then of course....

Posted

What time will this be on until? I am working until 2 pm next week and am considering nipping down for a look if it will still be on.

Posted

Yes. I think we reached 'Peak Chod' about Midday, but I was early last year and it filled out quickly. We were gone by 1pm though.

Posted

Oh well, hopefully I will be able to make it next time. No doubt there will be loads of pictures and somebody will actually be able to tell me what Bramz7's secret new car is on the day

Posted

Alternatively, we could always schedule ourselves an extra meet afterwards? It's a bloody long way, so I'd rather get more than just a few hours out of it. Anyone planning on stopping over?

Posted

Yes is the short answer.

I just got home from Cannock and I am going out or a BBQ for now,  no time to think about this now.

Can haz booked

Agreed, must say am a bit bothered about the early closure for a show.  Prefer to making a day of these things.  3pm still seems too early, what with all the build-up, advertising and effort Hagerty and organisers have made.  Took me three goes to get booked - website extra pages bouncing all over the shop.

So, Little Chefs? one after the other, from 3pm then?  Sort of a hash brown pub crawl.  It may will never be repeatable

I'm up for hanging around/going somewhere else local afterwards.

Your ticket is much fancier than mine. All I got was a sheet with 'classic car car park' on because I entered the concours and got turned down. They said it was a VIP ticket :-D

If we want a second event how about Fire engines 15 miles away?

We might have to leave Stowe early to make it worthwhile because they are only open until 5 pm last entry 4pm.

Camping in our field is not out of the question, we just need to make some arrangements for you know what.

The Robin hood is probably the best for our group if they have space and you would have to book soon.

I could be tempted to make the run...

Rover is not good on a motorway run at all - ahm oot.

What, and a 1962 Vauxhall that runs out of gearing at 50mph, because it pre-dates most of the M1, is?

Oh and I'm up for Little Chef. Seems a fine idea to say goodbye to them. Is Angry Dicky coming and does he still have the signs?

I never liked and won't miss them.

I like the idea but the trip to Quainton could take 45 minutes

That's a pokey car park though.  Might do though, depends on convoy size and how busy they are on a Sunday, obvs

Same here, however because AS  8)

Choice of northbound Towester or southbound Bicester, I guess.  Or do round robin tour* taking in both.

Towcester has large car park (and a Buddies across the road) as well as BP next door for Pez shots.

Bicester has smaller car park (but a massive Tesco one across the road) and a Hungry Horse next door as a similar cheap and cheerless alternative.  Esso on site for similar Pez pr0n.

It is a busy place and while they have 40ish parking places there is no overflow and the layby across the road is used by locals

If we are a small group something like this will be fine, otherwise maybe into Milton Keynes for one of the chains such as Hungry Horse.

That's the thing. This is about more than enjoying a meal. The loss of Little Chef feels somehow worth marking, even if it means paying slightly too much for slightly grim food.

Eh? In what way?

Tracking needs doing, and it uses a lot of fuel. Had a third of a tank at Penrith and it'd gone by the first services on the M61 (about Chorley), which is about 60/70 miles I'd guess.

That doesn't sound ideal. Especially given my S-MX will do over 30mpg with a larger engine and the aerodynamics of a house.

I've seem to have aquired a parking pass for the pre 1990 bit with a 1991 Citroen. will I get in or thrown out into general parking?
