You all know Crapaud, he has a thread: http://autoshite.com/topic/15611-renault-6tl-crapaud-pre-collection-post/

I've reached the end of what I can and what I want to do with this project so it's time to move it on.  I'd like to avoid eBay etc. if I can.  Enough people have told me it's an easy fix that I believe for someone, it is, I'm not that someone.  The engine has been rebuilt but something is set incorrectly because it won't run.  You may need to remove the head or take the engine out of the car to sort this and those are both jobs I will not be doing.

I'm owner number 3

The car has done 132,000 miles

It is the 1181/688 engine

Many mechanical components are shared with the Renault 4 as the chassis is similar.

There are many new things included

front upper and lower balljoints, both pairs (fitted)

front brake discs (fitted)

front brake pads (currently not fitted, calipers are a bit sticky)

5 brand new Kumho tyres, 4 fitted, 1 not fitted as the spare rim is badly corroded

radiator

three part clutch (fitted)

full exhaust (backbox not fitted but supplied)

fuel sender (not fitted, tank needs cleaning out first)

custom headlining

all four door seals

tailgate seal

Wiper blades (fitted, still good!)

inner and outer driveshaft boots (not fitted)

rotor arm x2

distributor cap x2

plug leads

spark plugs

contact breaker points

piston rings

all engine gaskets and seals

Will also come with a pair of NOS Renault front wings, still with factory stickers, and a pair of second hand doors that have good glass and a few good spare parts attached.  I've sourced the rare items such as headlights and dash switches so you don't have to.  The gutters had rotted out so were welded up and stick-on ones applied.  The tailgate window allows water in where the seal has lifted, I now keep a cover on the car so it stays dry.

I have the current V5, you may be unable to declare SORN online because the car has been off the road since 1993.  I wrote to them and they sent a letter confirming SORN not required until the car was in use, I advise a new owner does the same.

Buyer must collect as the car does not run.  Please check the legalities of A-framing, etc. if you plan to do this as that would be your responsibility, not mine.  You cannot drive this to an MoT.  You cannot drive this at all currently.

Raffle?  I'd prefer not to but will if there's a ridiculous flood of interest.

It's less throwing, more neatly folding it and putting it away in the cupboard.

What a shame, if I had the space I would love it. I am sure someone will have it, it's a bargain.

P.S. I think it should be a precondition of sale that anyone who takes this on has to promise it'll be on the road by shitefest.

That is a hunny, Sadly no money for any more projects at the mo' but I would take at least a couple of tickets if roffled.

glwts etc.

Tenner a ticket?  Seems about right from where I am.  I wouldn't get the full £600, maybe £550 after fees and whatever and it is a lot of hassle so I'd rather a direct sale than all that faff.  It's listed on the blue forum now too.  I might list it on some of the other sites, we'll see how I go.  Not in a mega rush but I would like the cash so I can get stuff for the other two cars.

That's important isn't it?  Stockton-on-Tees, TS17.  I'll update the first post.

This week I'll work on getting all the loose bits reattached so it's easier for the new owner to deal with.  They won't have to work out where things go that way.

In addition to the above, there is a LHD throttle cable supplied.  This is to serve as a donor for the plastic components and spring which are broken and missing on the car's RHD cable.  As far as I'm aware, you can't get R6 RHD cables any more and they're different to the R4.  Finding a LHD cable wasn't that easy either.

Tonight I've been getting the receipts together and will organise the folder of those.  It's not a massive stack but it does show what's been bought so you can add them up and find out how much money I'm really throwing away.

I'll be getting some newer photographs of the car when I've gone through everything and made sure it's all together.  I'm not expecting a quick sale, but I do want to be prepared for when the new owner does appear.

Hmm, a challenge. I like a challenge. No way of transporting it yet so disregard this sentence.

Doesn't man I won't go north for a while....

First sniffs of serious interest coming in tonight.  I do hope it doesn't go to someone that plans to restore it to factory fresh.

Where are you? I'm coming south empty in a few days.

He's in the Midlands. Well, he's actually on a ferry to France at the moment I think.

Today I went through everything on the car and got it all together so it could be put back in one piece and the spares collected up.  The only thing I'm aware that's missing is the interior kick panel trim for the passenger A pillar, since this is made from generic black faced carboard type stuff it won't be difficult to replace.  Other than that, here's the brand new pictures so you can make up your own mind.

Driver's side rear door opening. Historic repair, I just removed the filler and painted.

Driver's side rear inner arch/wing.  Historic repair, I haven't altered this at all.  Peculiarly, the other side of the arch doesn't show any sign of this repair or damage at all.

Boot floor, seats folded forwards.

20170314-06.jpg

Access hole in bulkhead.  This is cut neatly, doesn't go through the strengthening brackets and all material removed was kept so it can be welded back in.  This was made in an attempt to access the timing chain to avoid having to remove the engine but proved unsuccessful.  Repair was on my list of jobs to do, I just didn't get this far.

20170314-09.jpg

Passenger front floor pan.  No rot or holes, just staining from when the car was leaking.

Rear floor pan.  No welding required, but would benefit from fresh paint.

Underside.  Some mud still present but otherwise very solid.  Note also brand new exhaust sections.

Engine room.  All components reattached but will need checking before an attempt to start as some items are loose.  Battery will be included.  Old radiator shown here, which will be provided for reference purposes, new radiator is also included.

Interior next.  Boot mat and rear arch trims are present but not pristine.

Parcel shelf and rear seat is fully functional.

All items present, including original static three-point seatbelts.

20170314-22.jpg

Note, floor covering is currently in component pieces.  Original vinyl still present, new carpetting cut to fit and ready to sew together.  This just demonstrates everything is there but isn't fitted properly. Note also the unique RHD dashboard and steering column cowl which are difficult to source.  Column cowl is taped in place at present as it has minor damage to the fixing holes the needs repair.

Finally, an overview of the exterior and the collection of spare parts that will come with the car.  This should be everything you need to get the car fully road legal again.

Sorry, it's not for me I'm afraid. I've had a sit down and proper think about this and projects, however worthy, are not what I need right now.
