Pity about the Satin black paint job. I wonder if it would come off with some thinner on a rag?

DAT paynt job. Y tho.

Looks like a lot of the trim is there though, was it quite solid in your ownership?

The A pillars and doors were a bit rotten and it had a dodgy starter motor.

what is it with people and friggin satin black. It was metallic gold FFS!!! These people just need killing IMO.

Actually, that paint job doesn't offend me as much as it ought to.  As I said on another thread, if it means an old shonker gets to live and gets used - then sobeit.  It's not ideal, life rarely is.

Definitely looked better in PUREGOLD tho.

From memory the original factory colour was Beige Nacre 1384.  Originally the inner wings and engine pay were left in brown paint and you could see the code 1384 (I think it was) painted onto the inner wing just behind the left front strut top.

What Peugeot did was to paint all of the cars brown, and then they just sprayed the visible bits the final colour.

If anyone is interested in this, I recently bought a new rear door and three door skins for mine from these guys.

http://www.serie04.com/fr/

Their prices even including post to the UK were quite reasonable.

The gold 604 would have originally had a round fuel filler cap but I would guess had a rear knock of some kind and so replaced with a later rear wing.  I think that this would have been standard procedure back in the day.

When I sold it all four electric windows and sunroof were all working well as I have converted them all to relays (It needed ten of them).

I am guessing that the pillars had rusted out because the pipes coming off of the sunroof tray go down the pillar and so if there is any problems with them then this is what happens.  I didn't know about this when I had the car.

On my current one the drain output spigot had completely rusted off of the tray. I found that if you remove the front passenger seat and drop the head lining (and I did this without damaging it) that you can post the sunroof tray through the front door.  It wasn't that hard to repair in the end.

Why on earth do people go to the trouble of respraying it fucking Matt black? Usually badly.

Can see the banger races rubbing their hands together to purchase it.

I don't understand why he doesn't put a sodding fan belt on it.  That's just stupid.  Unless the water pump has seized or something....

This was the car which made me buy mine.

Somebody do it. I'm not gonna!

Another one hoping it's not heading to St Day. I'm with testicles on the whole satin black thing. It's the equivalent of being a good looking fella (pre-satin black), then smacking yourself in the face with a shovel repeatedly until you're unrecognisable (during satin black) and then rolling in excrement to finish the job off (job jobbed). Only a select few will now see through the shit and recognise the inner beauty.

Would not suprise if it gets bangered. From what I've read and seen, some (not all) seem to get a kick from racing mega rare stuff. And I guess the paint job limits its appeal to those who don't want to go medieval on it's arse with a grinder and crash it into Granadas and XJ40s.

Beige knackers 1384. And they painted over it.

What a crying shame, it looked lovely in gold.

But I'm not the man you took me for. Nor am I getting better - I've just committed to buying another snotter on Tuesday.

Would chip in a fair bit to a fund to save this though, if someone else is brave enough to take it on?
