Cheers Sloth as well for taking the time to organize the game and results and great speaking to you. Hope I didn't rattle on too much. That Volvo and the LDV minibus did my score no good.

Can't believe how cheap the Citroen Berlingo and Peugeot Partner vans went for today. Good job my dad wasn't with me or he would have made a few bids on those!

Good to speak to you as well, next time you know to bring your dad with you. We can always help with bid encouragement.

Thanks everybody for taking part

Before the champaign flows are you sure you were handed the correct envelope for the winner!

Well done as some one already said a lot of work.

My quiz score is poor, but I don't really care, the day itself outweighed that!

Should have chosen the tape stripe Polo instead of the black auto!

Surprised how well I did for a first time.

(also I apparently got £5 less than Conelrad but I'm a place lower - eh?)

The Almera with the £140/£240 confusion was the one where the Old Giffer lobbed on a hundred quid on the drop of the hammer, probably because of Old Gifferness. There didn't seem to be any reason for it, the entire Shite Crew looked confused and I definitely didn't see anyone run over to say "No, I demand to give you a hundred pounds more than my last bid". So the Megane was probably correct, I don't think you've swapped anything around.

It was quite a difficult game, there wasn't much that was utterly hanging, and even stuff like the Fiesta will be fixed with a £30 scrapyard bumper. Unusually there was nothing sub-£100, not even the first few through. There was more generic crap like Silver Astra SRIs too. I think this shows in the winning score being a good £500 more than usually gets first place.

EDIT: Just re-read the scores to see that the winning amounts were a very respectable £1800. Ignore my moaning about the difficulty, maybe I need to not focus on the burgers too much.

Aye, there were something like five Zafiras and five Astras and all made surprisingly solid money.

The worst of the bunch were the rear ended 02 Astra, the fried chicken Golf and the gold painted gaffer tape Fiesta.

I think the £240 Almera was an attempt in getting it to the reserve.

Belter of a weekend. WIFE_CMS even enjoyed it and I got to fondle a new fangled V90 thing.

She encouraged me to bid on the Legacy (375 quid!!! WTF?!) and I shat it like a big scaredy shite.

It was more of a mini Shitefest than a ASMM meet which was most enjoyable too. A great start to our season I think.

My dad got a long track record of buying vehicles he doesn't need so shouldn't take much ! Last one is a 2005 Fiat Doblo people carrier off someone my brother knew at a local car show.

Think next time I might bring my brother along in one of our many Fiat's although saying that if there a cheap Fiat there could be trouble.  :-)

An excellent day out, great to meet friends old and new. Many thanks to Julian for organising things and Conelrad and Ghostly for letting me have a go in their fine British cars.

So your 9th then, knocking rml off the table and making me last place. Damn...

Posted

Because that score beats mine, then it means it's not valid. You should have handed it in on the day.

Sorry, but I don't make the rules*

Posted

Yes but mine doesn't count so I'm on the sub's bench with Hairnet.

Posted

I'd happily buy a calendar full of that photograph of the Volvos side by side.

Simultaneous shite and modern horn.

Does that mean we need to go to BCA for a relegation match?

I'd be up for that! We could take johnk, the shadow and cavcraft, that would be fun!

Im going to have to get along to one of these meets

No difference miles wise for me. Takes a bit longer, but that's because it's a roads most of the way. Am up for it if it becomes a popular choice though

That doesn't look too dreadful, when you raffle it & I win,

Can you bung me a parmo in the boot when I come to collect - ta
