They_all_do_that_sir Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 I seen another maxxxxxxxus today! Looked newish, part of a fleet run by "GUS self drive" Only it also said SAIC motors on the back, turns out they own LDV? Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk
They_all_do_that_sir Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 Look closely and it has SAIC motor proudly badged on the nearside rear door Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk Cavcraft 1
dollywobbler Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 Wow. SAIC really must be full of shite-lovers. Perhaps someone there spent too long looking at AROnline? They_all_do_that_sir, Lacquer Peel and Craig the Princess 3
bramz7 Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 Sorry to barrage you lot with photos of LDVs YET AGAIN but here is some I missed: 1997 LDV Convoy 3.5 V8 ex-Ambulance. by Sam Osbon, on Flickr V8 ex-Ambulance seen in London a few years back. Numbered days? by Sam Osbon, on Flickr I think this one might have fallen out of use... 2005 LDV Pilot Diesel. by Sam Osbon, on Flickr I saw this down in Brighton in 2015. Now scrapped sadly. But.... 2002 LDV Convoy LWB Diesel. by Sam Osbon, on Flickr I saw this in 2014. It's still taxed. And still marked as one owner. Only 46k on the clock according to the DVLA. Surely, the only Convoy still with RM if all of that is accurate? Cavcraft, worldofceri, catsinthewelder and 3 others 6
Yoss Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 I like that Hightop with the BD02 reg. My ZT-T is a BD02 and that was registered from the factory being an ambulance. I'd be surprised if RM are still running it but you never know. The oldest thing at our office is an 08 reg Transit and it looks a whole lot worse than this.
Yoss Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 This is more like it. Hand painted matt black, visible rust, bumper trims missing and a fabulous roof rack! To add to the look the rear doors were still white and had a ladder attached to reach said roof rack.
Vin Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 Been sat a while it seems... That colour scheme looks like it's ex 'Hull Daily Mail'...
andy18s Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 I've posted this up before but it needs seeing again....

Vin Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 Here is one I spotted one Saturday afternoon in July 1997. I wrote the actual date down on the pictures but isn't to hand... It was in a yard called 'Hambleton's' in Caistor, Lincolnshire. It's long gone. It was actually at the time the newest vehicle in the yard. It was an H plate and a few years ago, I checked and it had only been taxed once, when it was new, so I guess it never ventured off the steelworks...until death. holbeck, Craig the Princess, Lacquer Peel and 3 others 6
Asimo Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 I'd pay actual money now for that British Steel logo'd door! coalnotdole, Vince70 and Cavcraft 3
2MB Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 I have fond memories of a '97 (I think) LDV 400 minibus taking us on primary school trips. I left primary school in 1999 and being a spontaneous jet setter ended up buying a house 40 yards from there. They still have the LDV and it gets regular use but lives in a brick garage so photo opportunities are rare, but it still looks good
eddyramrod Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 Just be careful not to get any photos with the nippers in shot, in case one of the parents complains...

Yoss Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 This is the old Southampton Citybus Sherpa. I have a proper photo of this somewhere, where it is the actual subject, not just lurking on the sidelines. The Olympian is now preserved and lives in the same yard as my bus. Here it is again in Portswood garage. No idea why there's a Wilts and Dorset VR in the Citybus garage. Would never happen now (not least because the garage is now a Sainsbury's) with one being First and the other Go Ahead. I've spent a couple of hours looking for this picture but so far no luck. These are from around 1988, I know this as there are RMs around. Until around 88 I put everything in albums in different categories. After that I decided albums were getting expensive and space consuming so everything is in its original packs. I have four boxes full like this and all I have to give me a rough idea of age is the colour of the packets. This could take some time! Found some excellent material for the bus shite thread though! Here's the Sherpa again lurking in the background. The space between the second RM and the Atlantean is where I took the picture of the Sherpa. The second RM also happens to be owned by me now. Shameless plugging there! As I say I need to get some this stuff up on Bus Shite. Asimo, cobblers, Vin and 2 others 5
beko1987 Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 Back when dad worked for a lettings agency, then started his own, his odd job man of choice was called Len. Len had a succession of sheep's, it was a K reg when I first remember it, but I remember the red ex royal mail P reg one more! (sure it was on a P, early 2000s anyway). It had a slide up rear door, and was always full of just tools everywhere! Did get driven about in it once. Don't remember anything about the actual ride tbh, ME and my stepbrother were probably 14,and annoying dad, so Len said he was off into town, he would drop us off at the cinema (the showcase in peterborough). Dad gave us some cash and off we went. Len then gave us another £20 so we loaded up with sweets and drink and watched a film. Happy memories! No idea what he drives now, will ask dad if he still speaks/knows him, he was getting on a bit when he was about, let alone now
quicksilver Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 Stondon had this V8 ambulance, which as far as I know is still sitting there unsold.1996 LDV Convoy UVG ambulance by Adam Floyd, on Flickr The local bus company used to put this one on the town service now and again. Retro_Auto Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 This was my last Pilot 3 years ago, I added the side windows and the black surrounds, It had the ultimate of desirability, a tailgate instead of two doors. From the Mot history/DVLA it looks like it has fallen out of use sadly, probably fell due to the Peuguot cracked head weakness. Look closely, you can just make out the Orange Headrest covers !! + Some crap photos of crap photos of the other two converted Pilots anonymous user, Vince70, Yoss and 5 others 8
beko1987 Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 I got into bed at 9.40 last night and at about midnight had finished reading the whole sherpa/Ldv stuff on aronline... I did the same on the 600 when dw got his, the sterling when MO posted up about his etc... I don't think it's a problem though Cavcraft 1
