At least you don't need an angle grinder, which I would have expected from such newfangled tosh.

Still, for some totally ludicrous reason only a good therapist could explain, I'd rather have ten of these, than one of those pretentious Germanic shitboxes.

Now here is a question, though - were they available in any other combination than Sarah Harris metallic with Colditz Castle waterboarding benches inside?

I've never seen one that's not silver with those daft shiny wheels but my guess would be you could also get it in JRG and beige.

I think top gear maybe did a trip with the newer model CTSV

I will pay the ultimate compliment. It looks like an American vectra.

I think it looks like one of those folded paper cars you cut out and fold and glue the tabs to make a 3D model

Did they sell the Vectra in the states? I know they sell the Insignia as the Buick Regal.

No vectras as far as I know / have seen.   Possible some GM small stuff shared a platform or parts.   They did sell fifth gen Astras as Saturns with only a badge change though and of course the much maligned Cadillac Catera (Omega).

I was about to pipe up about the Saturn Aura being an American Vectra, but it turns out the Aura's on the longer epsilon platform; making it a Vauxhall Signum saloon, I guess.

As usual, British market short changed for colours. '05, $8995, 63k miles, Virginia.post-17481-0-49584600-1480626681_thumb.png

I think the interior of a facelift omega is probably better quality than the interior in this.

Everything is okay, mainly because I'm going to sell two of my other cars.

When I say sell two I mean buy one. I actually lucked out as if I'd had any other car other than the Panda it wouldn't have gone in my garage and I really would be in trouble .

I'm determined* to get my Cortina back on the road by March so my thinking is if I cut back from 5 cars to 3 I'll have more time to spend on it. Lets see how that works out.

Just 1 or 2 clips

Not sure it came out the factory like this. Or with all the filler dust on top of the fog light.

Defo had a light thump to the front passenger side. Probably just enough to bend this bar and break the bumper. There's a few tangs missing off the head lamp too.

Also I bought the wrong bulbs.

Think you bought the wrong car, ask the missus she will confirm this ?

It's the right car just not in the right order.

Just in case you can hear me pissing myself laughing at the last few posts, don't be misled - I am in fact deeply, deeply sympathetic.

It really needs a new headlamp but I recon I've more chance of waking up and being able to sneeze jellybaby's than find a RHD CTS headlamp. The bulbs it needs are those high voltage xenon ones that an initial look on eBay suggests are 50 quid each! A quick look on Amazon has turned up a set of 2 for 30 quid, which is a bit more reasonable.

Look at the quality installation of those pipes and wires running in front of the rad. They look like they should last for weeks.

That's one of the fascinating things with yanks - that amateurish looking plumbing is good for 50+ years.

Project meeting (yank auto builder) :-

What have we got on?

Cylinder head spout - to - Heater inlet pipe.

How much hose do we need??

Project meeting (euro auto builder) :-

What have we got on?

Engineering vs Beancounters.

What odds are you giving ?
