engine bay warning stickers

Only noticed this morning that the samba cabrio has 10 warning or info stickers under the bonnet. I've never seen that many on one car before! They all look factory too. There's 11 if you include the one that's worn away. The rallye was painted to within an inch of its life, so I never noticed what was or wasn't supposed to be there.

So.... who can beat 10?!

Health & Safety gone mad. Should be a warning about what an arse it is to do a clutch, head gasket's no walk in the park of a balmy summer evening either.

As far as I'm concerned this covers everything for tyre-kickers and messers.

If you don't know where your bonnet release is, your screenwasher reservoir lid, your oil filler cap or dipstick LEAVE IT ALONE STUPID.

And whilst we're on the subject  - if you ask an experienced, time-served mechanic advice, promptly ignore it and then come bleating to me because the fetid heap of 10 yard (rain) shiny paintwork shit your Dad/Uncle/mate/random moronâ„¢  found turns out to be exactly was I said it was - don't expect me to repair it for free.

My Range Rover has stickers - some of them painted over which makes them structural now. :-)

There should be one on the outside of a Goona saying 'WARNING: under this bonnet is the engine and gearbox of a Renault Laguna'.

My w210 has a big sticker advising that all airbags must be replaced by September 2015. I'm taking my chances.

I liked this one on the Allegro.

I think it means "during times of industrial unrest, do not brandish handbrake lever as a weapon".

R6 Metro GTa steelie wouldn't fit in the tyrewell with the tyre inflated.

I loved the one under the Punto

"Engine oil: We recommend you use oil"

Poor translation - they're recomending selenia oil.

Looks more like it's warning against inserting handbrake shaped levers into holes to me!

What ever floats your boat!!

I'd imagine Volvos of one flavour or another are likely to be top of the table for warning stickers.

On some of our vehicles it might be better if the warnings were on the outside of the car, not under the bonnet!

Honda nsx stores its spare flat too

And 924's

And Touaregs...

Really?

I guess the world is a little more mental than I imagined it.

924's have the craziest spare wheel ever. The tyre sidewalls collapse so the tyre forms like a rubber band around the rim. The sidewall disappears! I'll try to find a pic

Sounds like the nsx one .

Fast hondas are a pain for spares . On the type r civic and accord the spare doesn't fit the front due to the big brakes so you need to swap front to rear first if you have a front flat . Awesome in the rain trying to catch a flight id imagine

as does the 928

My sister's Honda lawn mower was also plastered with safety labels, I think it is due to the sue, rather than think, first culture which now surrounds us.

From memory it had "Caution engine may be hot!" (as I hadn't used it that year I thought I'd be ok) "Do not put your hand in the grass collector slot!" (so it would be ok to put someone else's hand/other appendage in there?) It was a bloody good mower though.

I don't think I would want to drive more than 2 feet on that ^

Don't some Swindon Civics have warning labels on them in Japanese for no good reason?

Those collapsible spares are funny. Was out to a Q7 once, where the spare blew up all skew whiff and looked like this but huger.

I am guessing the logic is that nobody who drives a Porch or an Aldi has any idea how to change a wheel... I do wonder how many times those spares have been used without being blown up though....

I read it as, "Torque Wrenches Forbidden"
