Tundra concept by Bert & Tone.

Possibly the most beautiful car I have ever seen. 343 crossed with a BX crossed with a 480?

I dont know the details, but I thought tbe pics were worth a fap.

Love looking at old concept cars, that random

Cinquecento plus bicycle is a fave of mine.

I deffo see a hint of alfa GTV in certain details, the rear light panel andthe bonnet shut line on the front wings hints at the Alfa's clamshell.

Volvo were sold the basic shape from Bertone, but it had first appeared in a Reliant prototype: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reliant_FW11

The Volvo Tundra and Reliant FW11 were both designed by Marcello Gandini at Gruppo Bertone.

That man should be fired.

From a cannon.

Into a wall.

Smeared with shit.

The last day when a man made such a decision was somewhen in 1986. If it were still men making such decisions, it wouldn't happen.

No man would browse a catalog of Swedish au pair girls and then say 'okay, we'll take a moose'.

These decisions are long since made by comittees consisting of dark suits carefully groomed in years of formal education* to have no balls whatsoever.

All they have ever learned is that creativity is punished, conformity is rewarded and intelligence is the ability to repeat what they were told by someone.

And they are meanwhile not only running car companies, but everything. Every single aspect of our lives is micro managed by them.

You should have seen the concepts for the replacement of the first 5 Series BMW, another Gandini design btw.

But the committee decided on the lame e28 facelift.

Did someone at FSO have a sneaky peak at this? It's almost 100% Polonez.

The Polonez was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, who came from the same design background as Marcello Gandini. They both belong to an Italian design triumvirate, along with Leonardo Fioravanti, all born in 1938 within months of each other. Thus all three graduated at the same time and basically spent their entire working lives trying to one up each other. Giugiaro won in the end by being named Car Designer of the Century in 1999, most likely because of his legendary facelift of the Morris Marina.

I like how everything looks so futuristic and then you see the engine and its just the same old shit with wires hanging out all over the shop.

I think that's the first time I've seen a dirty, under the bonnet shot. Does spoil the mood somewhat doesn't it?

Both are nice, but I like the Reliant better. The Volvo does look just a bit too similar to a Citroen, but which came first - the Ovlov prototype or the Citroen?

Re the Ford that wasn't:

They must have taken some thoughts about it away with them though.
