Six-cylinder Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 That's a shame, lucky I put my MK5 in for an MOT yesterday to catch the last of the sunshine! Vince70 1

Vince70 Posted September 16, 2016 Author Posted September 16, 2016 It's not moved from the spot so I doubt it's been for a test drive as normally down Brassey road as soon as you've pulled out you've lost your parking space.. I would of thought that the owner would of got in touch with one of us if he was selling as enough of us phoned up or put a note on the car for six cylinder unless there's a k kettle appreciation society that we don't know about who also tried pulling out the stops to get this upmarket 200. My theory is the owner has decided not to go ahead with the sale or he's been offered £301 and I had even found an old bottle of K seal in the back of my garage for the lucky buyer if it was needed.
Six-cylinder Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 I have just phoned again and got the answer machine, I left a message! Vince70 1
Rusty_Rocket Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 ...soon to be seen at the local driveway dealer's council semi, with £695 on the windscreen. EssDeeWon and egg 2
Vince70 Posted September 16, 2016 Author Posted September 16, 2016 I wouldn't be surprised and I expect to see it on Facebook on a cheap cars site
For Fiats Sake Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 I've just had a thought, the seller has probably put a card in local newsagents window or supermarket equivalent, might be worth scout out the local paper shops to see if another contact number is available? This can't end with a no shitter sale! EssDeeWon and purplebargeken 2
Rocket88 Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Someone else may be after it, and has removed BOTH of the notes.............................................. oldcars, BorniteIdentity, egg and 2 others 5
EssDeeWon Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 ........But the For Sale signs have also gone if im understanding Vince right? Still an odd situation, with the phone never answered and now the For Sale signs removed, the owner must be about.
barrett Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 I'd suspect that repeated desperate phone calls and multiple notes left has convinced the seller that it's worth more than £300, and he's currently writing out a new for sale sign with a grossly inflated price trigger, flat4alfa, scaryoldcortina and 2 others 5
The Reverend Bluejeans Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 Maybe he's 'testing the water'* before entering it into Bonhams? *Is that the most wankerous phrase ever? robinmasters, For Fiats Sake, egg and 2 others 5

EssDeeWon Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 This song was played on R2 this morning, made me think of this thread; "All I ever get to hear is your answerphone, I will keep on ringing until you answer your phone"
fatharris Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 The seller will be quite disappointed when no fucker rings up for an £800 R8 convertible. Shouldn't have gotten greedy.
scaryoldcortina Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 ^ I think that's a photoshop of the original £300 for sale note..

mitsisigma01 Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 Twas I that put the first note on the windscreen , I then went for a paddle and an ice cream , upon my return said note was gone ...... I returned to the mitsisigmamobile trying to phone the number still no reply ...... I then chatted with a few friendly locals , I now know the history of the local church architect , what happened to the tennis courts , the history of the road name and where the best cafes are and the location of the museum that apparently has the story of Alva , the locally built single seater racing car manufacturers from the 50s & 60s . What the friendly locals didn't tell me was the mystery owner of the Redroofedrover .Whilst eating my bag of donuts I observed a local chav putting a note through the nearside window to roof rubber . I tried calling again , still no reply .....the mystery deepens .... so I thought fuc it eat a box of Daim ice creams and use the box to leave my own message slipped thru driverside roof rubber . Did Vince70 see a red cardboard note on the drivers seat . And yes it was dated and timed before the local chav put his thru .So MrSixCyl , I did try to get a go in it to check for the dreaded mayo , alas I failed in that but I did get about a dozen pictures , close up , not so pretty but still savable .If anyone can tell me how to post pictures up we can all see the unbuyableredrover !!
Vince70 Posted September 20, 2016 Author Posted September 20, 2016 Sorry I haven't updated anything lately on autoshite, but I will go down town later and see if the car is still knocking about if I get a chance.I did see the card on the drivers seat of the car but also someone had put a bit of green card in the passenger side. When I went back the following day someone had removed your card from the drivers side seat and all the for sale signs and the notes had also gone but the car hadn't moved from the spot but the green bit of card was still on the passenger seat or I might of just imagined it.So maybe now the mystery yellow civic owner who's been seen hanging about is now breaking into the car to get rid of our notes lol. This thread has it all with suspense mystery and a Rover owner that can't be contacted.
Six-cylinder Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 Is it still parked in the same place?
