The Pendle witches haven't aged badly.

At this precise moment I don't know whether I am getting 3 trains or 4 trains, and one or two cars....

Plaice your Betz now!

Posted

It is up north, due to smoke from chimneys and the gravy factory ....

Posted

Down to one car, two trains, one tube.

Packed the essentials

And a mutant half baby half coffee they keep in a cupboard

ETA is 7 o clock to pick up the passionwagon. Luckily I won* it from PBk. Sadly he wouldn't swap it for a box of AX bits!

Arrival back to Accrington targeted for 11.45pm

It's for topping up the phone!

As an experienced collectioner, I know that

a) your phone is unlikely to last the distance

B) don't count on the cig lighter working in the new steed

C) The AA haven't followed this thread or developed mind reading skills, so battery may be required

D) got to listen to these bad boys ...

Wigan...... they eat pies in Wigan.

Fair point about the phone.

The cig lighter in the Mitsu works perfectly :) :)

Am just going to take all my stuff out of the car. I will also give her a wash as the local flying rats appear to have had a shitting contest on the rear of the car.

It was clear 3 days ago. Cunts.

Best of luck!

Jump pack? Surely a cig socket spliced into a fuse tap. :)

Train had a FTP, due to loss of power.

Applying first law of electronics they turned it off and back on again. Seems to have worked, bumbling along with limited speed

Posted

That's train limp home mode. If a headlight fails you're not allowed to drive the train at more than 20mph (not joking).

Posted

Did you offer you jump starter pack to the train driver ?

Got to the big smoke... The locals welcomed me with cryptic numbers...

Before boarding a tube full of meat ... Hot and sweaty, with many many unhappy people

I escape in the warm London air ...

Seen that sign and the word roundabout springs to mind. No idea why. Must up my meds.

The Moog was collectioned from the wild and potentially risky Edmonton Green station and whisked* away to my place via i10.

The most excellent heated door mirrors were pointed at. Slidey door opened and closed. Then away he frollicked.

Destination: Ooop North, cos it's grim.

A pleasure to meet you Will. I hope the Mitsu makes you, your missus and the dogs as happy as I was.

By the way, a number plate light appears to have died. Sorry mate :(

Brief update....

I finally made it to the wilds of Edmonton, avoiding contact with the locals who spoke mainly in grunts. Probably unhappy with no gravy on their chips

Samuel L Jackson was at the station, waiting to film terrapins on the tube.

As mentioned above PBK did all that.

There are two kinds of shiters:

Those that get into a new car, only touch the bare minimum to get comfy for the 200 mile drive home

Those that randomly push buttons every time stuck in traffic, risking winding down windows that can't be done up!

I am number two, but PBK motors had promised it all worked and it did.

The money shot

Now stopped at Stafford to unload some fluids and top up some more

Car drives lovely. Totally opposite to the Alfa. Nice up high position, and the 1.8 pulls decently. I tried the standing start from the toll booths and only eased off at near triple figures...

It has a bit of a wobble at speed, and hard braking shows up some warped rotors.

The AC audibly made itself known after 30 mins, but that was solved by turning it off.

There is a squeak that I can't work out what it is!

About 80mile to go, sat nav is threatening that will take close to 2 hours.

She does shift quite nicely for a bit of a portly thing. I managed to embarrass several cars in the traffic light GP.

A squeak? Hmm. Possibly a London mouse.

As I mentioned, I had the tracking down at the local Formula 1. Didn't get round to the wheel balancing. That might help.

I only braked in a genteel manner, you are obviously much moar aggressive assertive lol++++.

The drivers seat has a fair bit of adjustment and really can be fine tuned. How has she been on fuel?

Sorry for the streaky finish on the paintwork. Rush job lol. There is a little tub of polish by the cup holders. It's not make up, just in case you were confused :)

The Moog is now driving around with streaks of car polish on his face.

Finally home, with 10 mins to spare of the day. 245 miles in total.

Brakes have sorted themselves out. Felt like the drums might have been sticking a little.

Fuel I can't tell until top up. Above half way took 210 miles then last 30 dropped it massively!

Thanks for the offer Bub, I didn't see it earlier.

Ahhh that is what it was, at least my face now beads when I cry!

Smooth as butter collectioning, exemplary work all round.

Is it an auto? Don't forget to shut the sunroof when it rains, unlike the previous owner.
