It's taken a bit of work, but the ex AlsoMike Rover 25 diesel lives to fight another day.

Cosmetically, it's appalling; mechanically, it's pretty strong. This is a perfect car for someone who just wants an economical hack - there isn't a lot to go wrong and it's excellent on the motorway. It also has a sub 10 second 0-60 if you're that way inclined, with plenty more to come if you want to spend a few hundred pounds on de cat pipes, EGR blanking plates and tuning regimes.

I'd like £275 and the car collecting from the PE7 area of Peterborough, please. No swaps or raffles, soz.

I can actually confirm that this is a WONDERFUL little powerhouse to drive.

I'm hoping the interested shiter picks this instead of his other potential motors; I could do with the cash.

£275 for a fully MOT'd little powerhouse. Who wouldn't. Fuck, I'll even collect it and drop it off to its new owner if they'll buy me a ticket back towards home.

As lord sterling has already said, 2 litre L Series are faster than youd think, Driven well this is the perfect thing to offend wanky white audis in :-D:-)

Isn't mcoli after one of these.

Sort-of - this very one in fact - but I am on holiday next week so would be unable to collect it then and have been offered first refusal on something else too so told Dugong that if anyone else wants to buy it, don't mind about me, just get it sold - if it's gone when I come back from holiday, that's my tough luck, isn't it?  Get stuck in and get it bought, chaps.

I could just deliver to your house, tie a ribbon around it with a nice card and make/pay my own way home?

Quick show of hands: would a raffle be of interest at £5.50 a ticket?

If it means the car sells I'd consider it.

Does the sunfroof leak?

The sunroof does not leak. It also works.

It's quicker than my Leon TDI in a straight line, certainly.

I'd want better suspension and tyres if I was going to start upping the boost and / or fuelling. It almost feels too powerful for the shell and chassis as it is.

Thats POSH.

The first picture is from the brochure if im not mistaken.

I think the L-series in my 45 TD had more torque than the 3.0 Omega I had before it.

Rapid little things, in 3rd especially.

With mine I find that it is the brakes that are most overwhelmed by the increased performance.  Mind you even the brakes on the VI are shit and they're discs all round.

I'm happy enough to collect and stash this for someone if it gets a deal on the table.  I'm only 20 minutes down the A1(M)

Much appreciated. Now, anyone for a raff1e?

Yes. Yes please.

Two lucky dips please. (Dips auto-corrected to stupid there; an omen?)

16 and 59 for me please :)

50 tickets are £5.50 each. There isn't a 59th ticket.

I need more interest before I raffle it. If people batter the page up for a raffle, I'll roll 50 balls.
Otherwise, they'll be a gaping hole with four raffle takers and the car unsold.

I'd rather have the money outright so until there's more people involved, it stays up for sale.

Glad to see it lives on! The appalling bodywork aside, this is a decent little motor.

I'm surprised to read of rubbish brakes on 25's. That free 1.4 K I had this year had just about the fiercest stoppers I've experienced, I mean face-suckingly good. I know the 2.0td will be heavier, but still...

Have you thought about being less patient?

Have you thought about being less patient?

Have you tried to deal with my unit landlord?

I can't have the car sitting around for weeks while people go 'umm yeah maybe I might' over a £5.50 per ticket raffle.

The brakes on my 220Di were good. Handling was a bit like my Clio 1.9D, heavy diesel engine in the front, little weight in the back gr8 for lift off oversteer. GLWTS.

That's what it corners like - a grunty sledgehammer.

Not convinced by the raffle idea but we'll see what the weekend brings.
