I suspect she might get more enjoyment from using a blunt one to cut Billy's knackers off.

I can honestly say I wasn't expecting this.

Same here, I was expecting some mingebag Gumtree fodder but no!

I think this is great, a proper stupid purchase of some proper shite. Nice one Billy!!

What a miserable piece of endshite, I love it.

I had no idea they can be tattier than the one Mr Conelrad had.

A bona fide classic, that car.

I was looking for one of those as a base for a kit car, if you can sweep it all into a jiffy bag I'll pay the £1.50 postage.

Did you actually pay cash money for it? And depending on the answer is your will up to date?

Look on the bright side- the rear number plate looks to be in good nick...

Just think, once you've spent the next twelve years bankrupting yourself by restoring this, you'll be able to join the MG owners club and go on outings with them!

Engine rape for a mini  minor Spitfire/dolly/?

That's a RWD 1500 Triumph engine, judging by the S reg and the squared off rear arches.

WOW!! Even stevie wonder would have walked away from that :)

Having pulled apart and worked on some wob filled 'fully restored' Midget 1500s this one looks to have more structural integrity than most! Lol!

This is the tale of Billy the Cav

A rusty MG he decided to have

Mrs C was sick of his hobby

So now she's trying to dispose of the body

and then decided to flush him down the lav

You could always just buy a new shell rock up with it and a carrier bag of tools at the sellers,

a few hours later drive home simples

Good idea not to sit Barbara Cartland Dog in it for the photo shoot, Billy.

I reckon the additional weight would've broken the MG's back.

When do you plan to sweep this onto a trailer and drag it home?

I had one of them until about 10 years ago & can safely say that's fucking fucked!

Great fun when they work though.

Pretty sure the for sale board in the garden relates to the house not the car but I left your details just in case.

Have you swept this home yet?

Numbers 60, 99 and 4376 in the roffle please.

Billys gone very quiet since admitting to buying this. I'm wondering if he's out looking for his chopped off penis on the side of a busy main road somewhere?

You mad sod

Well bought.

Wind in the hair and up your trouser legs motoring is that.

Does it actually have a floor and inner wings?

Swap yer for a bag of Swizzels.

Collection planned week after next, or somewhere around there. I think the only possible hope is to get a low decked trailer and try and push it on, or (if I'm lucky) recovery truck and winch with a strop over the axle. I'll be amazed if the tyres hold air, especially the fronts, are they 4x1.5 or something daft?

4x4 inch imperial so 101.6mm but if you are just going to swap the wheels to get it on a trailer 4x100 will bolt on....just take them off when you get home...

Or something with a Hiab and the word 'recycling' on the side.

Cheers, trying to inflate them has to be the first port of call as I doubt there's much left to jack the car up with. I do have some 4x100s kicking about though 'just in case'. I reckon a reccy mission first is best, check/inflate/swap tyres and try and free the brakes off. The rear has been on axle stands for light years so I may (haha) have more chance with back wheels. It'll have to come out backwards whatever happens, hence thinking of trying to sling a strop around the back axle (probably two, one either side) and try and drag it.

Posted

I wouldn't bother with trying to free everything off just liberate some inner wheel arch plastics off a modern, jack it up (under the suspension) strap the plastic covers to the wheels and it will slide onto the lorry.....

If you do drag it with your strap round the axle, put a ratchet strap underneath running between the back axle and the front axle/suspension so it's at least pulling on both "axles" rather than through the banjaxed body.

Out of interest (morbid curiosity) what are you planning to do with it? That would be one ambitious resto

As scruff says. The rear axle is just hanging on the leaf springs and where they join to the floor is a notorious rust point. The front end has chassis rails ahead of the front bulkhead and as they are usually caked in oil they aren't too rusty.

Let's put it this way, I don't plan on it being a long term resident of DATESTAMP Garages.
