Suzuki Ignis Sport

Good move!  As you've already found, this will be a barrel of laughs in daily use.  It'll punch well above its weight.  I approve.

Can someone explain why these are so much more pricey than Puma's

I'd be really tempted by one, but not worth the extra money to change.

Posted

I've never driven a Puma, so no idea. I don't think I've heard anyone say anything negative about Pumas mind other than complaining of rust. I must have a shot of one someday.

A black Ignis Sport? I've never seen one that wasn't yellow, I don't think.

Posted

I've never even seen one before. The mere fact that they made them is to be wondered at and applauded.

That does look like fun. It shouldn't, but it does.

That is chavtastic, I certainly would if it were in auto flavour :-D

These are ace, I had a blast in one last year and was seriously thinking about buying one.

They just feel like they wanna be thrashed everywhere.

I really like that. Your description is everything I imagine it would be. Is that a cup holder to the right of the steering column. If so, it's perfect!

Posted

Yeah. There's cup holders at both front corners of the dash, a shelf, and a glove box. It's very japanesey.

Posted

I like how they made the cup holder then had to cut some of the top part of the dash out to make it fit a cup,

I like the Swift's and guess this is very much the same,

Who's running the book on how long this one lasts?

Well bought that man! I haz had the horn for these for some time now and they are high up on the list of what to replace the SportKa with. I have always thought they would be like a less flaky Puma and they have that rally special look about them. Verdict: win.

I've half-thought about these for proper aaaages.

Maybe the OMGa's replacement in about 6 months? :D

Thank you.

There are more sparrows per square foot in Durham city, than in any other Cathedraled city in the country.

Statistics taken from the 1876 national sparrow census. Can not be garunteed still correct. Check with your local town hall.

This is where the Pink Panther lives. Durham, Durham, Durham........

I really wanted one of these back in around 2004 when I was a mere 18 years old. It was either this or the Yaris T-sport. I remember reading an article in evo about them head-to-head with something else (forget what now), and the Ignis generally came out top. I visited a dealer and had a good look around one at the time. That dealer then pestered me for the next couple of weeks about when I wanted to arrange a test drive. Pretty sure I was the only one that ever came in specifically to look at it!

I ended up with a 3 door Civic powered by the 1.7 CTDi Isuzu lump. Utterly different to what I was imagining (really nearly needed up with a 147), however it lasted me 5 years + 90k miles and got me through uni. The only thing it needed replacing in that time was the MAP sensor, aircon condenser (stone, can't blame it really) and a split hose. So probably was the far more sensible option - especially as the depreciation on the Ignis would have been really silly.

Still would rock up in a Ignis though - even though its Postman Pat van with a decent engine in.

I didn't even know they did a warmed up version of these tbh. Looks quite snazzy.

Half eaten pasty and a bag of chips for it next week m8?

I've honestly lost track of how many cars you own now.

What's the current fleet status?

He only has 1 car. It's just forever changing.

This.  I'm an automotive serial monogamist.

And a snappy dresser.

Depends if it's got a solid floor in it really. It can have all the seats in the world, they're no good if my arse is scraping the A1 on the way home.

Didn't Suzuki win the JWRC with these for a couple of years on the trot? I've always thought they looked quite snazzy, so top buyage.

Used to live in the same road as a blue one. Black looks great. This blue ignis guy went everywhere full throttle..

They're bound to under the body kit, but I don't think they're especially prone to rotting out.

He's probably had a new clutch put in it and swapped it for a bag of Toffos.

I once came tearing down the b6161 (the road where I later crashed my GT6) in my Xantia and caught up with one of these.

I presumed I would make short work of it and be past it in no time but the driver obviously saw I was driving like a hooligan and fancied a race so put his foot down. It properly moved and I really had to put some effort into keeping up with it despite really owning that road back then as I was driving to work and back every day at the time.

I couldn't figure out whether the car was a bit of a sleeper or whether Michael Schumacher was driving his mums car to Harrogate to take her for cream scones at Bettys.
