The longest, most impossible AS collection relay.

Recommended Posts

Posted

They say it would be impossible to relay an Autoshite vehicle the absolute length of the entire country. Diagonally.

And with good reason.

For it has never been done.

I saw a car I fancied in Newquay. I live in Newcastle.

This presents an opportunity to break the official AUTOSHITE MARATHON RELAY NON OLYMPIC RECORD.

All contestants are welcomed. If you could run the car any section of the proposed route, feel free to add your user name and point to point relay section that you'd be able to complete.

There is no time limit on completion, and each shitter taking part will have the opportunity to enjoy the car for a number of days of their choice if desired.

Beware that while this is currently theoretical, it may very soon become a real life situation and that you may be called upon to play your part.

We begin at Newquay and head north east.

Please arrange yourselves in an orderly queue below.

GO!

I think the train to Newquay, plus the train Nyacastle to Peebo would be literally hundreds of pounds dude.

If you can maths it, let me know though.

What's the motor?

That might affect temptation levels...

No it ought to be like roulette. Once you're in, you're in.

Even if its something awful like an Audi/Golf/Vauxhall.

Edit: Oh. It's something cool.

I think you wont be eligible for the award as its not the absolute length of a country though,

AUTOSHITE MARATHON RELAY NON OLYMPIC RECORD for nearly the absolute length of the entire country.

If there's flexibility around time (work issues) I'm game. Will do what and where I can!

No bother for me to get it in Newquay (45 mins on some ancient trains). I can probably factor it into a run up to Cardiff, but doubt that would be for a month or so.

Posted

I could get it from near Shepton Mallet to Rutland in a couple of weeks. How's that?

Posted

I just drove home from Peterbro'... 3.5h of sheer boredom.

Training ???? ;)

If it transforms into a n/a dizzer estate with GTi seats while passing through the midlands. Would that be bad form?

Posted

That does look nice. I presume you'd be insuring it on an "any shitter" basis. I could be persuaded to do a leg SW to mids.

It has to be said that even though I live in Devon, Newquay is still a 3 hr train journey away!

All good offers so far (apart from slothinabowl).

Not sure it'll still be for sale in a month or so, but you never know.

The person that traverses the most miles, will also receive 7 free numbers in the next WW Roffle!

Shame it ain't anywhere near me.

Fish and chip supper at the end?

Posted

If it passes West Yorkshire I would do the last leg up to you as a train back is about £20 and only takes a couple of hours.

Posted

I could do a Chester le street to Newcastle leg of around 11 miles or Chester to Sunderland if Overrun wants a go.

I am confused, is WilsonWilson considering buying a car with four figures in the price?

Nah, Make Offer, £999.99.

Your route goes nowhere near where I live. GLWR! Every shitter should take a woollard of themselves with the car, can make a collage of them for next years calendar? First one of the seller, last one of you receiving it

I could drive it to Cannock on an auction day and buy something to bring home if that helps

Posted

I'm running down to Newport S Wales this Sunday, and could bring it up as far as Stoke on Trent........if you want it going thru Stoke that is. .........

Epic, has to happen!

I would, but its so far away.

&c.

Best of British to yer tho, deffo! Records are made to be broken--that is, until someone does a "Land's End to John O' Groats" relay.

I'll hoist a bottle of "dog" in appreciation of your (collective) efforts...

I can moor it up in Sheffield - can't drive it anywhere but it can be dropped off here (NO OFF ROAD PARKING M8 SOZ) where I can keep an eye on it.

Newcatle to Bristol on Easyjet about 45 quid, and the same $$$ from Bristol to Newkee.

I think it would be easier to relay WilsonWilson from Newcastle to Newquay so he can drive the car back than sending the car the other way ;)
