Looks split screen in one pic and not in the other. Could be reflection though. Oxford is a good guess.

Oxford is a good call. Looks like maybe the mid 50s MG Magnette / Wolseley family of cars or maybe the Riley One Point Five. Could be totally wrong but worth checking out.

At first I thought mystery car is a split screen but I think it's a reflection after seeing 2nd covered pic.

Agreed, if you look at the windscreen wipers, it can't be a spit screen, 2nd photo is clearer.    I think not a Magnette or Riley 1.5, as the top corner of the screen isn't quite right.  Possibly a pre-Farina Cambridge or Westminster?

Pic of 54 Cambridge. Maybe has a slightly flatter roof than the Magnette or Riley.

Hope pic wasn't taken near a banger racing track. 70s oval racing tracks were full of these, especially Westminsters. Loads of interesting period vids on YouTube.

I thought it was split screen too but yes the other pic confirms it was not. I was passenger in a van so that was the best I could do!

No ideas on this, I only know it's low.

Buggered BX? ;-)
Only joking - I was going for 924/944 but I don't think the roof line works? Matra Simca thingy?
Rusty trolley jack at the back? I can't ID the wheel/trim either

What do we think about this one? Wheels make me think BMW E30, but not sure the proportions fit.

Is that a bustle, or an open boot?

Now you've said it, I'm not entirely sure.

I did have a look on street view (it's been there for a couple of years) to see if it was like that before, and it's not entirely clear.

Or has it been whacked up the trumpet, hence being off road?

First guess was the  early 80s Alfa Giulietta which has a body moulding which could be the crease shown by the wheelarch, but the actual arch shape itself was a lot rounder on the Alfa.
Rover 213/216 perhaps, I'm pretty sure they coule be had with what look like the fake BBS wheels you can see, and also had quite a short bootlid.

Is it not a Montego? The shape and outline looks like it, but I can't be sure.

View of the front end from Google Street View in 2024.
