fairkens Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 It looks like one but I'm no expert. Saw a Ford -Ferguson for the first time yesterday. That was very cool bit I completely failed to get a pic

Saabnut Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 Just fitted a new set of hoses on mine and let it warm up for the first time since I got it. Carb is all over the place, it smokes badly for a diesel never mind a petrol/TVO running on fresh E10 but it works! Just went to the neighbours to collect a couple of parcels delivered whilst I was away so that is 2 miles done. Apart from the smoke and the new (14 year old) normal paint on the exhaust burning off it runs and drives really well. Inspector Morose, loserone, Coprolalia and 2 others 5

twosmoke300 Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 Lovely . Im on a recovery page on fb and someone was trying to get a quote to get one of those moved from Belgium I think it was . Someone told him it was just over 2 tons and guys were offering to pick it up on a transit 😂😂😂 Matey got all huffy when I suggested it was at least double that weight 155V6 1
155V6 Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 There's supposed to be some more County Tractors in the Fleet Carnival next month,I'll try & get some pictures.
twosmoke300 Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Those high level European hitches give me the fear ! I get that they are good for transferring weight to the rear tyres but I’ve seen too many videos of tractors getting pulled over backwards .
Dyslexic Viking Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 We tested the Zetor on the firewood machine today and this worked well. 1100 rpm on the engine with pto on 4 gear which gives 350 rpm on pto. So it looks like the Zetor is going to spend the winters on this. 20220605_125407.mp4 Mrs6C and djim 2
sutty2006 Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 On the same farm where all my truckshite spots were. Lots of tractors This one stuck out. Still in use for its hydrolics for a log chopper. Oil literally pissing out of it. Mrs6C, Dyslexic Viking, CreepingJesus and 1 other 4

Tigerfox Posted July 3, 2022 Posted July 3, 2022 Used to drive one of those sometimes when I was a lad. Only remember a couple of things on it. You always had to let it idle for 5 minutes after working it to allow the turbo to cool down. It had a 8 speed gearbox and a foot operated button on the floor that gave you half a gear so you could keep it where you wanted it in the rev range. Dyslexic Viking and Vantman 2

Dyslexic Viking Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Things have escalated here and there are 3 Zetor tractors here now. 2 2511 and 1 4712. The first 2511 that I have written about earlier here can be seen in the background. martc, fairkens, LightBulbFun and 5 others 8

The 2 closest tractors are Fortschritt ZT 300 and the front of one can be seen in the back ground next to it is an MTZ (Belarus) possible a 50 or 52? twosmoke300 Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 All coming back to me now . The rear axle drive was either done through the PTO if it had ground speed setting or through the worst most torturous routing of a prop you have ever seen from the original forward facing 4wd drop box . Including a slip / overload clutch half way down the prop . The main problem was that most of them were converted by farmers not engineers Dyslexic Viking 1
twosmoke300 Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 Here is one I replaced nearly all the rig / track and chains on Dyslexic Viking 1

And I wonder how the steering worked, did these Belarus tractors have the same as our Fiat 780 that the steering was purely hydraulic so no mechanical connection from the steering wheel to the wheel at all? That would make the steering simpler to get working after the conversion. And since they were built by farmers, I can imagine there were many interesting solutions on these. Thanks for sharing this as I have never seen anything like it.
twosmoke300 Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 Yeh fully hydraulic steering like nearly all tractors in the last 30 years so that bit wasn’t too bad . They had crude suspension on the front ( now rear ) axle . Good tool in the field and we’re used instead of the modern rigs when it was steep / muddy ground . Utterly terrifying to drive on the road tho . 15mph has never felt so fast . Steering like the ones in old movies and brakes that were pretty much on or off ( independent brakes too so could be all on on one side and nowt on the other ) Dyslexic Viking 1
Saabnut Posted August 4, 2022 Posted August 4, 2022 As I am at my place in France, a chance to photo my other tractor. This is mainly used to power a 1.8m flail mower. It had not been started for 2 years due to the battery dieing and work getting in the way during grass season, but was sorely needed now. Fitted a new battery and got a nice quiet click. After much searching, decided it was an inhibitor switch stuck so hot wired the starter. Once started, it has reverted to its usual reliable self, but that is why the side panels are removed in the photos. It is a 1989/90 Kubota 2850 4WD. It spent most of its working life on golf courses in Yorkshire before retiring here. The rear tyres are super singles off an HGV trailer, but work well as turf tyres. And hard at work Rust Collector, Dyslexic Viking, twosmoke300 and 5 others 8
808 Estate Posted August 4, 2022 Posted August 4, 2022 This is my favourite tractor video. Definitely not shite though.
