This Mazda has been outside some shops round the corner from my place for some time now, it appeared there one day with a flat tyre and no other visible damage, the tyre has now come off the rim.  Still taxed and tested so not sure what's going on with it.

Update on the Mazda - went for a walk a few evenings ago and noticed it was on the driveway of a house a short distance from its resting place in this photo and the battery was being charged by a cable routed through the front bay window, so I assume the owner had been away for a few months and it had just been neglected.

There's an early A series Mercedes that's always parked in the same place near to my Sister In Law's house, which I presume has been abandoned.

Lots of interesting tat lurking around here. I actually parked up and went back to get the Skud and its friend

This sad old Moggie was immaculate when the owner of our local Dominos started using it for advertising and local deliveries in 2008.

A lad I know who used to maintain it for the owner mentioned just how clean it was underneath. However, within a few years it needed some basic remedial work and the owner decided to park it up rather than get it fixed.

The car is absolutely rotten. The floors are hanging out, the nearside front suspension has collapsed and it looks as though it would snap if it was hiabed away. I honestly don't understand why anyone would let such a decent little car slowly dissolve in plain sight. Even the local rag latched onto its plight a few years back and the repsonse from the owner was 'our much loved Morris Minor is taking a rest currently'. Barmy.

I'm glad I documented this one. It's finally left its resting place. V5 change of keeper end of July 2023 by the look of it. I'd have been intrigued to have seen it removed - it looked to have all the structural integrity of a cornflake packet.

Thanks for the reminder. Found this the other week

Update on this one inside the abandoned Sea Cadets place - it's finally drawn the attention of vandals

Went for an explore around the hotel I'm in tonight. Not 100% sure I should have been where I was but I found these

Not exactly easy to photograph but there's a Clio...

Looking closer there's a New Beetle at the other end of the row

Not sure what's sandwiched between them but there's a whoresbox on the same site

So, here it is in September 2022:

And here it is, a few days back at a local, smallish breakers yard. I half toyed with the idea of buying the speedo and turning it into a clock for the garage. I can't really justify the £25 the fella is asking though.

RIP.

This Ferrari 250 GTO, s/n 3589GT, has been raced by Mike Parkes and Innes Ireland. The next owner, Tom O'Connor (not that one), stopped racing in 1964 and donated it to a local senior school. In 1970 it was sold for $6,500 to Joe Korton.  He had an exotic car rental business in North Royalton, Ohio called, in true '70's style, 'Motor Cars Masculine' and rented out the GTO for $34/day between 1970-1972. He then parked the car on a trailer in a field in late 1972. In 1986 it was restored and is now worth over $30 Million.

Where did you manage to find that shot? The fella who owns the truck/yard is quite a character* - I'd imagine free pizza was a non negotiable...

I think the yard owner needs recognition for not slinging it through the side windows

You don't do that if you are concerned about how well attached the roof is....

There’s a video of it on the “Classic cars, bangers, rot boxes, anything old and interesting” facebook group.

I've joined 👍. Interesting to hear it sold complete a few days after being brought to the yard - apparently the new owner lives in West Cornwall and hopes to restore it! 😳

I did find these photos of it in Newquay a few years back when still clean and in use. Still think it's a real shame it was left to rot for so long.

From what I’ve read it was absolutely knackered, he must me crazy to want to restore it!

Thr front suspension had collapsed, the floors were hanging out and you could put your finger through the bodywork pretty much everywhere. It's a donor for the A series, interior, a few bits of trim and that's pretty much it, I reckon.

It can be a bit hard to tell what's out if use here but removed plates are a fairly good indicator.
