Cheap, reliable, embarrassing car

Recommended Posts

Posted

A mate of mine at work has recently had car trouble, and he's after something to last through the winter until h can get his car sorted. His exact words were "mechanically reliable, hideously embarrassing and therefore cheap". For some reason I immediately thought of this place, and thought one or two of us may have cars which meet that description!

I'm going to trawl the eBay tat thread now for some comedy value offerings too...

Hasn't someone on here got a particularly grim Megane Floppytop for sale?

The perfect wagon would be JohnK's rover. £275 FFS, that is a give away price :)

Surely an orange Daewoo Matiz is the ideal solution, I don't know of one but they are spectacularly embarrassing

Oi! it aint grim, if you are a woman, its a nice looking car, for a girl, perfect for your mate, I drove it to work with the roof down in -2 temps this morning and I sort of enjoyed it!!

Nope, it works perfectly, it was a nice day in the lakes and the views are even better sans roof.

I'm not biased but I'm with Ken and GGS here.

How cheap is cheap?

Few hundred quid I think - I'll point him in the direction of this thread and see whether anything grabs him. In the embarrassing stakes though, nothing has topped this yet...

Nothing has a more miserable face than this..

But nearly full service history and mechanically perfect with no rot, this has years left in it

Surely the only sadface Fiesta with rear arches left anywhere?

The only rot in it was the sills replaced by a Ford main dealer a couple of years ago at £500!!

They were the ones who failed it on rot, I doubt it was that bad though you know what main dealers are like
