I was going to be doing this end of the month......................France is looking decidedly dodgy though!

France will be fine as long as you are careful and don't drive around Paris in an illegal car.  Something like an old Renault 20 being driven by a non resident through Paris I am sure they won't be worried about that at all. Just man up and hire a trailer and go get it you will be fine.

The 20 in the pics is apparently the one the spare panels are coming off......................I agree it doesn't look that great.

Security has never been tighter. And besides, there's thousands of people entering Paris today to enjoy the tower, food wine and bedroom antics; so I'm sure you can sneak in for a few hours and bag an old Renault without ISIS plugging you to death.

1 - Choosing to not do the things you (allegedly) want to do just in case there is terrorism means the baddies win.

2 - The next attack is just as likely to be London, Manchester, Berlin, Edinburgh, Barcelona....in fact given hyped security in the usual stable door/bolted horse scenario around Paris, its probably the safest part of Europe right now.
