For Sale - 2004 SEAT Toledo 1.8T 20V Sport

Time for me to sell what has unquestionably been the best car I've ever owned.

The details -

2004 / 04 SEAT Toledo 1.8T 20V Sport 180bhp

MOT April 2016 (Check the MOT history here -  https://mot-history.net/

110k Miles

FSH

Just had new coil packs.  Good tyres all round - rears are virtually brand new Continentals, fronts are about half worn Yokohamas. Everything its ever needed has been done and done properly. It has really been looked after and has been my daily for the last eight and a half years.

Autoshite special price means that it also comes with 4x alloys (same as those fitted) and set of winter tyres with enough tread for this winter and possibly next winter too.

Mega reliable - I'd happily drive to wherever in this tomorrow and its been my vehicle of choice over other newer and fancier cars over the last few years.

Bad bits

Radio has given up working.

N/S/R brake caliper sticks a bit and will probably want replacing for the next MOT. New calipers are £80.

Aircon given up. Might just want regassing but I don't know - haven't investigated it. Heater works as it should.

Bonnet stonechiped and it has its fair share of small scratches but given its age / mileage its very tidy overall.

I'll get some better pics this week as its been foggy all day and I need to clean it anyway. For the moment though here it is -

Thanks!

Most of the mid to large Seats are visually appealing. Neighbour has a silver Leon which looks very smart indeed.

I loved my Leon, it was only the lure of a new job and sudden wealth plus not wanting to put many more miles on an already-160k car that led me to sell it.

£795 seems a bargain for that, sounds daft but I reckon these were VAG at their quality peak. Not their actual peak, which was in 1967, but the insides of these are all Audi bits at much more sensible prices.

Newer Seats actually seem more plasticcy, and way more form over function.

If I'm honest I'm not sure where to price it but that felt about right. Certainly wouldn't want to take much less though.

I did see a virtually identical one - same spec, same year - priced at £2495 on a forecourt the other week which seems a touch insane and theres a '51 Toledo I've seen on a used car pitch locally for £1695 so I don't know.

Its been a great car though and I'm genuinely sad to be selling it. I do love the power and the fact that it has been so dependable and I have relied on it totally. Agreed that they are about the peak of SEAT models too, everything just works and to my eyes its a good looking car. I looked at newer Leons and the like but they just didn't float my boat at all. I've always liked these since I first drove one in 1999 and reckon it'll be one I'll really miss.

That's good value and that engine is a good mix of economy and performance . I had a Passat 18t and got 35mpg consistently even though I drove it constantly like my pants were on fire.

Looks great VFM to me and they're a nice looking motor.

I really really really really really really want to buy this.

Then, reasons for not being able to buy this. Sadness.

Bumpety bump. Did 60 odd miles in it this morning and it's just bloody fantastic.

Once I recover from the NEC next week I'll get this on ebay and the like.

A fast, cheap car on ebay.....WCPGW? The temptation to stick it in the back of the unit and forget it's there for a year or five is quite real though.

I like these more than most VAG stuff from this age but they're a saloon aren't they?  No space for putting bikes in :(

It's a shame they didn't do an estate version right? I guess VW didn't want it cutting in on Golf estates sales.

I've had a bike in the A4, had a wheel off but it works.

I take it seat dropped the saloon with a hatch for this model then? I had two maico 490s in my 98 toledo

Posted

Yep, its a saloon but the boot is massive. Drop the back seats and you could probably move in.

I do really like this! Road tax is a bit of a put off but it's more that it's miles away from here. Still tempting though.

Arrangements could be made for delivery....... (cost of train back + bacon butty I reckon)

Whats the opposite of a collection thread then?

A delivery thread!

Wonder how that will work? Suppose we'll find out this week :)
