It's rough around the edges but mechanically sound, I've tried running it on veg and it ran well but have mainly used diesel for the ease of it.

It's taxed, mot'd and insured so can be driven away no issues.

£450

Bollocks, ever since this pile of crap came onto the forum I've fancied a crack at it, and now that I have no money and nothing to trade, it is for sale.

You've had the pleasure of seeing this in person. You'll be able to tell everyone it is as shit as it looks in the photos in fact it's much worse in real life.

The name is enough to make me smile, Tata Load Beater, it makes a good insult which most people won't understand if you call them a right Tata.

It is truly awful, I'm glad you are so far away so I'm not tempted (although I have driven them on site when they were nearly new, so even if it was at the bottom of my drive I probably wouldn't be tempted either.)

I'm sure it is lovely really, so as a bonus

This one is hiding in the shrubbery near where I was living until recently; not content with one, there are two there, plus a Skoda Rapid. They are only visible from the road in winter, so should be coming to light again soon.

I'm no help there.  I was quite impressed with it.  It doesnt look as MASSIVE in real life, but I'm sure it is.

Trusted cellar.  5 out of 5 Stars.

Niva or UAZ 469?

Posted

It's not actually too bad to drive, it handles surprisingly well when cornering. It's not particularly fast but can reach speeds in excess of 80mph (eventually) I love it and if it hadn't been for needing the cash for a Lada Niva I'd be keeping it.

No doubt it would cost more to insure than a Mondeo. Not that this is actually possible. Ha.

I'm just imagining the kudos* I'd get from the kids if I turned up to work in this!! "Look at sir's awesome new truck" they'd gasp... It's just a bloody good job I don't have any spare cash!

* am I getting kudos mixed up with derision...?

Is it a RWD one for extra usefulness*?

Yes, you could be the next drift king!

As for insurance it's actually the cheapest vehicle mrs foad could insure in her own name coming in cheaper than a Fiat Panda or VW Polo.

Is it possible to get bored of a Niva?

Can I buy it and in true FOAD fashion swap it for say a Volvo and half a BMW two hours later?
