How about this short cut to bankruptcy?

There are dafter ways to spend five-and-a-half bags, hence I recommend to pursue one of them.

A tatty Silver Shadow should be a sufficiently shite way to end up in a debtor's prison.

The taxi firm I use to go to & from the airport has one of these among its fleet - Every time I'm in it the driver regales me with tales of horrendously expensive repairs. Lovely barge to be wafted around in though

I like that 'this was the fastest depreciating car' is a selling point.   Does that make it more desirable?

Got to say I think the W12 may have a little further to go.   V10 diesel maybe not.

That's been for sale for sometime now. lots of potential either way!

Interesting cars elsewhere in his yard too.

I noticed the fleet of Granada's in one of the photos.

Why's it so scruffy inside? Like you'd leave it sat until the test run out, then try punting it on through ebay! Sounds like prime candidate for something terminal up with the engine/box

It sounds rough in ad too. Cracked screen, being sold as spares or repairs. Not the sort of car you want to take a gamble on either

Take 1 bottle of nitromors, 1 pineapple, chop the springs and turn up at some dub event and be worshipped as a God.

Yes of course, aren't they all.

Do they have regular or air suspension? Although I'm sure they'll find a way to get it 2mm off the floor without any expenditure

The only way you'll get your £5,500 back for one of those in the future is if Britain suffers Zimbabwe-style hyperinflation.

Get stuck in. I am sure any branch of KwikFit can sort out any issues for buttons*

* almost certainly not true

I can't think of any car I want less. Even a Diesel Laguna with issues is more appealing.

Shred the fucker.

I love it when people go 'Phaeton for Polo money!' If you were in the market for a supermini, I'd be fairly certain a bill for 4 new tyres on the Phaeton would be a shock to the system, let alone an exhaust or a pair of shockers, I'd be surprised if a lot of the stuff isn't dealer only.

Park it in a field for 30 years then flog it for $$$ as BARN FIND CLASSIC DUB because PINEAPPLEOLDSKOOLVAGMONGS will be queing up for it. That's what happens to most  old Volkswagens, is it not?

Ecp prices so don't take this as gospel

Air filter £15

Oil filter £15

Disc each 46 to 60 quid

Pads 60 quid

Lambda sensor £84

A lot of parts come up as unavailable online though.

These have got to be one of the dullest potentially interesting cars ever.

I don't get the collective AS sometimes, there's mutual wrong-touching over fucking Vauxhall Corsas but what could be more appealing than a white elephant of a luxury VW saloon with a monster engine?! That's a shat example but I quite like these, they are supersonic shite. It's a brave man who parts with 5500 for one though I grant you.

That.

Would Autoglass be able to replace the cracked screen for a £50 excess?

MOT expired last October; why has he waited six months to sell THEOMGFASTESTDEPRECIATINGCAREVA? He must have lost about ten grand.

For £5.5k there's better ways to get 12mpg.

Because knee-jerk VW reaction. I would, but only when I have substantially more than £5500 in the bank. Buying this with your last pennies would be as clever as investing in Dr Fox's Boarding School.

Plus, the scene stuff has bindun :

I'd deffo have a Potaton, when they get down to sub grand sort of motoring. That way when when the thing breaks something expensive you should* be able to recoup most of your money breaking it. At  5 bags plus, it's a bit too much of a risk imo.

I'm pretty sure the Photon could do that on its own...

I don't get the apathy over these either. By being complex, ruinously expensive to make and depreciating faster than an egg mayonnaise sandwich, it's the most interesting Volkswagen product in a very long time. They're also rather pleasant to be in.

Five grand is quite a lot of money to blow on a bad one but it's better than blowing £20k on a fucked Continental GT and having folk asking why your Chrysler 300C only has two doors.

I agree, these are appealing to me much more than a corsa it's just 5.5k is a bit salty for this one that looks to be facked.

It's just about as shit and unappealing as I thought they would be at 10 years old.
