New Mazda MX5 - japs, stick to what you know and leave the outrageous styling to the Italians. It looks like Leepu did it.

Anything new, quite simply. I no longer know what anything modern is nowadays without looking at the badge. Hyundai/Ford/Vauxhall/Renault/Peugeot/Daewoo etc etc all look the same with those big ugly wrap round headlights and mahoosive colour coded bumpers and snazzy alloy wheels.

Jesus wept, who the fuck thought morphing the very pretty proper MX5 into that mutant was a good idea...presumably the same twat who decided that pouring gallons of extra DERV into the cylinders over umpteen failed DPF regens thereby ending up in the sump and bollocksing the engine up was a good idea.

Just hand the pillock that decorative sword and get back to doing what you used to do well.

isn't there going to be an alfa spider version at some point of the new and horrid mx5?

maybe that is why it looks so very, very bad.

Nissan Joke.  So ugly that I can't put a picture here.  I can't park next to one either.  Note to Nissan :-D : I applaud your desire to design a car which is different, stands out from the crowd etc, but try the 'attractive' rather than the pig ugly route.  It works better.

I agree that pug really is the Pitts but you have to remember the people who buy these are only interested in getting from AtoB and their last form of transport was a bus which to be honest is still better looking when it comes over the hill on a piss wet freezing cold morning. For the younger veiwers the definition of a bus, An outdated form of transport who's sole purpose now is to restrict the flow of traffic to a sensible level ie 5mph.

For the record, I like ugly cars on the whole.  But then I'm the sort of person that buys everything second hand.

I like the Juke.

I also like the Multipla (the 2000s one) before anyone starts on that too.

Me too, the Multipla that is.  The Juke does look good in the dark.

Multipla i can forgive, it was never designed to be cool or trendy nor anything else, its a proper mpv with the unusual space for 3 in the front, and it does its job well without rear passengers being crammed in some darkened dungeon behind pillars and CIA windows , Joke on the other hand, why?

Weird to load on a car transporter,  the rear track was so much narrower than the front, loading cars you don't look at the body at all you lean out and watch the wheels on the decks, but if you do that in a Multipla while reversing up a deck you'll drive straight off the bloody side.

is still the most gopping piece of shit in all of automotive history. And not by a narrow margin.

Which is weird, since its predecessor and successor were actually quite nice.

Christ Junkman you'll have the purists spitting their Pimms all over their Thai masseuse, i agree mind, the standard E type looked bloody awful yet the V12 was much more in proportion.

This grille, " > < ", seems to be spreading across the whole Toyota / Lexus range.

The thing is with this sort of heavy styling, it dates really quickly and what looks out of date is replaced sooner rather than later. The look that results from good design has lasting qualities.

The Multipla is a good example, the original will be admired in the future despite being a controversial looking car but the modified later cars will dismissed as an example of how bad styling can ruin good design.

^^ WTF are Lexus doing, have MB and BMW managed to infiltrate a team in to sabotage the bloody place.

Not long ago we seriously considered a LS 430 or pushing the boat out a bit more a LS 460, lovely quietly handsome cars, but Jesus that thing above i wouldn't give you a thankyou for.
