Like the solar variety, the Mitsubishi Eclipse should not be observed without eye protection.

Blue, definitely.  That was always the best colour that Escort range came in.  Have another one.

I don´t think the Eclipse always looks as bad as the blue one above.

This thread is not complete without the horrid extra American version of the Mitsubishi Eclipse, from the company that briefly appeared from the rubble that was AMC: The Eagle Talon

Beige.

What a beauty, and probably not a transistor or chip in sight.  Bet I can't afford it.

Not sure what the going rate is, but yes, it's arguably the most expensive Peugeot you can buy today.

Lacquer peel red and blue as we used to call them.

I much prefer the blue version. To me, the red version always looked dull and washed-out, even when new.

So do I. And Sierra Azuras. Both models don't seem to have rusted as badly as their mainstream equivalents for some reason.

Another vote for blue, shep your a bad man I'm now thinking of sierra azure in blue, i had a gls hatch for breaking in the same blue looked nice, every panel pin straight and paint was lovely, but it was terminally rotten and then saw a previously mint condition one that the owner loved in the same colour had been vandalised they dented his doors and bonnet, he didn't have the cash to get it sorted and didn't want to go through his insurance as the car wasnt worth alot, seeming as I had already made profit on the engine etc i offered to supply and fit the bonnet and doors for £20 just to get the car right again, the guy had a lump in his throat because of the gesture, i did the work and polished it up so it all looked nice, i see the car about now and again still looking lovely.

I agree! The red always looked more like pink to me. The blue looks much nicer.

The Eagle Talon

That sounds like the punchline from a joke about someone with really bad crow's feet.

Always blue - 'Blue blue Electric blue' as was the starter theme tune for many a soft porn film from oddly enough Electric Blue - back in the day! -

Looks like the frog's electrics are fucked as normal

A bit of meaningless information: The rectractable hardtop on the Peugeot 402 Eclipse was manually operated.

I have never seen a blue one IRL. There were plenty of red ones around when I was growing up but have never registered a blue one until the advent of t'interweb.

The blue looks nicer on t'interweb too. I wonder if it just doesn't look so fab IRL for me to only have seen red?

Seen a couple of blue ones down here in the west country and I must say they look far better than the red. ( I was bum raped by the MIL into buying hers when she fxcked off. It was laquer peel red ( the car !). It was a bag of shite!) There fore if it's blue I'm in if it's red I'm out!
