Oh wow, that must be pretty rare in Buckinghamshire!  Sadly too misty here to see anything like that tonight.

It reached a long way southwards last night. Possibly it will tonight too. Keep an eye on the Aurora Watch website, where red is good!

Wow very fast start of work on the Mini. I have to confess I thought it looked like a lost cause!

Apparently last night it was visible as far south as the Florida Keys.  Big storm going on at the moment, so it's not impossible we'll see it again tonight.

Saturday at the FoD

The ride on mower started for the first time this year easily. It had 3 tyres with low pressure and I managed  dislodge the tube valve out of the rim on one so had to take the tyre off to move the tube back into position so the valve went through the rim.

@Talbot was with us today and last time he diagnosed our Citroen ZX TD estate staring problem with smoke was glow plugs. They were replaced 15 months ago but Talbot said cheap brands only last that long. Not one to ignore mechanical advice  from Talbot I ordered some Bosch ones. Today he suddenly said let's fit them and bingo easy start no smoke. Three in there looked newish but the difficult to get at one looked older. Had I fitted 3, was it somebody else, I just can't remember.

Then for some mowing as the grass was getting very long, don't worry @Slowsilver I haven't taken your job as I didn't manage it all of it as I ran out of petrol and I did it high for first cut.

The good news is the FoD is fit to drive on again so I am open to suggestions for an open/camping weekend?

There’s hope yet. Still has structural door rubbers.

Not a lot of car stuff today but this evening I piped up the Royale carb from a petrol can. The result was petrol percolating out of the top of the carb. I am going to have to strip the card.

Is this the worst car I have ever bought!

The sweepings from the transporter it arrived on.

Yes it is a Citroen CX2400 I/E Pallas Auto spares car for the one I have.

Maybe we should have a, can we start it session!

That's awesome. This will never see the road again but I wouldn't mind having a go in a CX eventually.

We have had this one for 17 years and when it is back on the road we are welcome to have a drive.

I've got a spare bottle of LHM in the shed that I can bring if we're going to try and get it going at the next FOD weekend.  MOT exempt too so slap a year's tax on it and use it for the chip run!

That's even worse than the cx parts car I've just bought. There's literally no solid metal from the bulkhead forward and no sills behind the trims. Mechanically it seems spot on though.

Can we turn the interior from the scrapper into a fancy 3 piece suite for the barn? Or is it in good enough condition to remove as a full matched set, clean and resell/pass on?

You are welcome to try but my experience of Citroen interiors of this age except GTi, is the outer material disintegrates in use.

An evening with the cows.

This evening was "Motors at the Museum" in Milton Keynes organised by the Lions Club.

Not as well attended as usual but there were three events in MK tonight and there had been rain earlier.

Dangit... I'd been keeping half an eye open for that one but managed to miss it.

A morning with the Motorbikes.

Today was another trip for the Morris 1300, this time to a classic car gathering at Pure Triumph in Woburn.

Pity. That is the Le Mans 24hr weekend.

Every weekend there are 3 things on at this time of year!

Absolutely, but typically this is one of only a few where I have something on! You will just have to host another one mid August on, as all my current commitmrnts end around the 14th August.
