Wow, some cars have moved around since my last visit, I would have loved to have got that Herald to turn over.  Is the Alfa being woken up then?

Herald is still here to be fixed!

The Garage that said they would fix the Alfa have gone all difficult on me so I guess I need to find somebody else.

Now more Italian content, I went to see my Trevi yesterday and am very pleased how it is going. They have done the underside welding and say all the holes were small ones! They have it running but wonder if the carb is of a 1600cc as it does not run well.

They have given me a list of parts they want me to get and this does not feel a bad list.

Plastic header tank

Throttle cable

Washer bottle

2 wheel bolts

Light switch

Four tyres

rear brake pads

Spark plugs

Great guys at the garage and I feel we will be on the road looking still looking tatty in a few weeks.IMG_20200707_142547.thumb.jpg.fafd12cb0ac5e21de265704001231c46.jpg

The space for the washer bottle is shallow and would not fit a bag.

Bolts come up as whole page including 126 ones, but no way of telling if that will fit. I am going to take a Gamma bolt out and see if they are the same.

Two types of pad seem to come up and I don't know which ones I have.

Presumably a lot of italians of that era will share things like  a header tank, brake pads and plugs?

I've just taken Eva and spent nearly £50 on food and drink for this weekend! The weather better be bloody not raining...

It does not look like the Gamma has the same header as the Trevi.

The washers on the Gamma is a bag that would not fit in a Trevi.

I did PM you a while back but not sure if you saw it, there's an Alfa specialist around the corner from me who have had quite the collection of marvellous old tat in being worked on.  I've seen a GTV and 75 in their workshop, might be worth an ask although it isn't exactly on your doorstep.

Nowhere near the same but think I've got a couple of jimny or sj washer tank and pumps kicking around you can have free if you wanted something to chuck in for the mot.

Very simple but small tanks.

Yes getting it MOTed is the first consideration, small is fine as long as they are shallow.

Am I going mad or has the field of dreams thread vanished?

Weather is looking good from Friday lunchtime onwards but very wet beforehand so I think I'll set off on Friday morning rather than tomorrow.

Engine is back together with proper gaskets and I've bought some threaded rod to make a replacement engine mounting.  Can't wait ?

Sort of, same thread but I altered the title with the Renault 11 excitement. FoD stuff is just a few pages back. I try to keep all my stuff under Six Cylinders Motoring notes so if you are not keen on my stuff I only pollute one thread. Just for you I will change the title back.

I think weather wise it is a good call not to arrive until Friday.

Mrs6C says she wants the mopeds moved to another parking spot, I wonder if anybody will volunteer to do that!

Travelodge booked, so as long as the forecast for Friday holds I should be getting there mid-afternoon.

I was contemplating asking Chris if he could bring the generator... I could bring my 800w Numatic (would run well enough off the generator, it struggled with my 1400w vax) and do a proper/better job (and get the mouse poo out of the olcit) ... You could borrow it... I've got a 12v one the kids can use, but it won't do a good job...

How much of your life do you want to use up getting it out! Mrs6C keeps piling stuff in front of it.

It is in there somewhere.

That's really great news.  Given how down at heel it looked when it arrived I was worried that the underneath would be like Swiss cheese.

If the washer bottle turns out to be really difficult to source, do you think it could be repaired with some fibreglass to at least make it workable until a replacement turned up?  Though thinking about it, a remote pump and a pop bottle cable tied somewhere out of the way in the engine bay would probably be easier...
