Do they have a flat spot for the bolt? If not could just self rotate off.

No they just reply on the clamping.

While I’m here, so to speak, do you want some pallets? Tried to interest my mechanic today but he declined.

Four, but one of them has metal rails for securing things down ( have the securing clamps too).

See, what I couldn't remember was if the PRV is wet liner or not. It is.

Your bravery is commendable.

Bravery? Other words are available and may have been uttered by @Mrs6C.

A friend of mine with a 2cv mehari replica keeps losing ( four so far) cheap wiper arms as they launch themselves onto the motorway. Looks like yours have a securing bolt though.

how fast was he going - have the 24h lot signed him up yet :D

Depends on the battery charge. But yes, I was exaggerating. At the moment my indicators flash faster with the revs higher.

Today I joined the Long Buckby Vintage and Classic Vehicle Meet, I belong to this group and this popped up.

Next meet - Workshop Day, Saturday 15th February Industry and Supply, Weedon Depot. This will be our February meet, come along and get involved, or just come for a natter, from 10am. Lots going on! - CV boots and brakes on a Mini Van - Door/window mechanism repair on a Fiat 127 - Brake Calipers, Discs and Pads on an MGF - Tonneau cover making on a Rolls Royce - Triumph Spitfire, Triumph Vitesse and metal art all in the workshop.

What a great idea, a café with an indoor space that clubs can book to work on their club cars. It was a great atmosphere with various work being under taken by people on their own cars with others to help. I knew a few people but not everyone, but everybody was friendly.

Food and drink were available and if you need more things to see Weedon Depot has Antiques shops and the visitors centre to learn the history of the depot.

The only negative is the café is not heated and in February is not a great place to sit.

The Mazda 323 got blocked in last week so I did not use it much. I wanted it for today for the car club trip so it was dug out and I topped the fuel up on the way home.

239.4 miles, 6.76 gals = 35.4 mpg.

A different flavour for today, my non Autoshite friend Colin of Mini fame suggested we went to a VDub event. I pointed out that neither of had VW’s and he said his wife would lend us her modern Beetle convertible. Why not then was my reply.

It was at a Classic car workshop in Bicester “Classic Collective” with retail merchandise, breakfast food, expensive cars for sale and freedom to walk around the large workshop. Also a selection of visitor cars mainly VWs as it was arranged by a VW group.

Good trip out.

This is really for @Slowsilver unless anybody else wants to join us and play car Tetris.

In early March I am doing a classic Rally in Mid Wales with the Saga Louts. Given the fact that it is still cold, quite a few miles and the old hooligans set a brisk pace I have selected Richard Morris's Mercedes E320 Coupe. I will need to get it out of storage and today I went to storage to check where it was parked, centre of 3rd row of 5. Some of the cars are so close together that you can't get in them before moving the one next to it. So bad but not as bad as it could have been, the back row!

Anybody have any experience of this type of cheap tachometer that simply has a wire wraps round an HT lead?

I would like to know what the engine revs are on the Rolls Royce and this was cheap and looks simple to fit.

I may just use it to understand how hard I am revving it and then take it off again because it will look so out of place.

A small win today!

A local village Facebook group offered a pair of free Osram H4 Night Breakers bulbs and I was there.

Turns out they had been bought in error for a Volvo V70  and were no longer wanted. I had seen this V70 around the area for years but he had no time to talk cars with me.

Another win this evening!

My Carlton Estate has been out of service because I could not open the drivers door from the outside or inside.

This evening @ianbmw came over and teased off the top of the door panel and managed to open the door. Instead of broken bits I was expecting he found the mechanism was seized. A good dose of WD40 and working the lock and door pull and it was free again. All greased and back together now.

I saw that V70 today. As you say it's been around here for years and the mileage is impressive - 360,000 at the last MOT! Looks like the business advertised on it closed down a decade ago but the wrap has never been removed.

Dry and Sunshine today, but very cold.

The Mazda 323 has a good heater to clear the frost and got to go to a local breakfast car meeting.
