ianbmw Posted October 27 Posted October 27 The issue is, it’s now done over 400 miles and whilst not perfect, it’s totally usable. I also really need to get mums Disco done :(. Please sir, can I give you a fully operational vehicle back ? Floatylight, Six-cylinder, Dick Cheeseburger and 6 others 5 1 3

Thank you for all the hard work and doing the shakedown miles and getting it ready for road use. It came to the FoD non running on a trailer and now was driven to the house after 400 + miles. Mrs6C Posted October 27 Posted October 27 A huge shout-out and thanks to @Andyrew and @Talbot as well as @ianbmw for all their contributions to getting this fixed (twice!) and looking so good. There are probably a few more on here who have helped it along also, so thanks to you all - you know who you are! 🙂 richardmorris, Coprolalia, IronStar and 5 others 7 1
ianbmw Posted October 27 Posted October 27 It’s very rare things don’t fit on the trailer, but i openly admit that one barely fitted. Stinkwheel and richardmorris 1 1
Six-cylinder Posted October 31 Author Posted October 31 This afternoon was a car afternoon with @Slowsilver. We started by putting the Morris 1300 into storage for the winter, boo you might say but I feel the need to protect it from salt. It has been the big success of this year and I have been using as my go to car. We spent some time reloading the vermin boxes to try and protect the cars from being nibbled. The mistake we made was not doing it a while ago when the cars were more spaced apart as Slowsilver had quite a job getting to some of the boxes because the cars are so squashed up now. It was a bright dry afternoon so we then went to the Mini Mayfair. We had had a problem with dash lights not working which is corrosion of the warning lights/dash lighting bulb holder. I bought 3 good used bulb holders and Slowsilver’s friend Thomas donated 2 more and Slowsilver cleaned everything and got them all working. We also put in a new headlight switch as I felt the old one could not be trusted because of corrosion. The Bonus was Thomas had donated a driver’s door mirror which we fitted. Once again thanks to Slowsilver for his time and effort. Anybody who did not join us this afternoon missed out on Jammie Dodgers! Winter is coming and as the sun set the temperature dropped notably with the mist coming of the FoD. richardmorris, Stinkwheel, LightBulbFun and 7 others 10

Six-cylinder Posted November 4 Author Posted November 4 Another successful trip out for the Carlton Estate yesterday. In the afternoon we went to fit the replacement fuel pump to the Citroen DS but it leaked. Turns out the replacement was a copy Facat pump and the screw in pipe connectors rattled in their threads and even nipped up would not seal. More cheap Chinese poor quality parts. beko1987 Posted November 4 Posted November 4 It's worse when you've tried your best and the part is still shit I think, at least an immediate brick wall let's you know where you stand immediately 😢
Markeh Posted November 5 Posted November 5 I'm sure I've just seen your old W123 estate as a background car on the ITV drama Joan. Floatylight, brownnova, AnthonyG and 3 others 6

Yes that is it, well spotted. I sold it to a film company. They have borrowed several of my cars in the past that have ended up on TV, such as the Citroen GS in the Idris Elba life story. Our MGB GT was street furniture in the same programme. richardmorris, Yoss, Vantman and 1 other 4

How many of the fleet are white?

Funnily enough I have just seen it in another ITV drama named ‘Until I kill you’ tonight! - I thought I recognised the registration plate! The BMW 7 series - the E32 one - has also appeared in this show, I think I remember you saying you’d sold it to this film company. Six-cylinder and richardmorris 1 1

AnthonyG Posted November 5 Posted November 5 The Mercedes mainly features in episode 2, so the one screened yesterday - watched it on catch up this evening. The BMW appears less prominently as street furniture in both episode 2 and 3.
