Six Cylinders Motoring Notes - Well I think it is good news!

It looks like you had a 330mm wheel on your mk1 MX5 - standard wheels are quite a bit bigger, around 360-370mm, and with PAS the size difference wouldn't do loads (without PAS 10mm makes a palpable difference). I can't even run a 370mm wheel comfortably, they're huge. I have a 360mm Nardi Classic instead which is just right. Also, I find mk2 to be a lot more cramped in general - much more than mk1. The leather seats sit notably higher than the fabric ones too - I fitted heated leather SVT seats to replace some cloth MK2 seats and it made a significant difference, I could immediately tell I was higher. Mk1 tombstone seats as you'd have had in a Eunos are much lower.

Put me down as a maybe for this weekend  BTW- I realised I've double booked myself, have a ticket for Capesthorne Hall car show on the Sunday, and I'm intending to fit an LSD to my MX5. I'm also waiting for a message that some Civic parts I badly need will be available - if so I'll have to go on a rather long drive to collect. They're in the west country but these aren't bits that come up often so I'm not passing them up.

I’m tempted to come up. Parents should be safely off to the south of France and I’m not needed for babysitting for another weekend.

I’m not sure the tent fits in the x1/9 - will check tomorrow.

I’ve just ordered a case of beer from Skye in case.

I have some old books/mags to bring, and the latest vacuum find -some Chinese PoS named a ‘Xylonic’ which has remarkably poor suction despite me not finding any blockages anywhere.

Something to Beko to investigate (and then launch into a skip, I imagine)!

Does anyone want a couple of carpentry books?

Bang up to date* as they are the metric versions!

What happened to 1 and 2?

No idea! These were amongst some ancient farming related books I rescued for @Mrs6C- my parents’ neighbour was chucking a load of stuff out and I intercepted them on their way to the recycling bin.

Good. Books should never be put in the bin.

Sounds awful but I can't picture the name, and googling it brings up results for some sort of acid!

Probably got a pleated paper filter that's never been cleaned. Thanks!

Helpfully* I've been talked into driving all the stuff to Scout camp on Saturday morning so once I've got the Luton back to Ludlow I'll set off on the 125.  Will try and cram the random vacuum spares I acquired yesterday into a pannier.

Tempting, but I've got to wait for the Scouts to load it into the van at 10.  Good to see you back around here :D

Looks like I will be able to drop in on Saturday afternoon, will be great to visit the fabled FoD and put some faces to usernames.

I had hoped to make this one but a small* setback in the field here means I will not be home for at least another week.

*Small in this case meaning it will cost someone many, many millions!

Trying to geet out of another unwanted commitment..... Saturday afternoin I think.

Will bring the tent, just in case.

Anyone there on Saturday any good with stereos?  The Blingo's dash came out to sort the heater matrix and it's not worked properly since.

TIA, shiters 🙂

Hoping for my first foray into the FoD as a day visitor on Saturday. Still trying to convince any of the offspring to accompany me but they don’t see old cars as a lure.
happy to get involved helping/fixing anything.

The stars aren't aligning for me sadly - we now have an unexpected visitor planned that I'm not allowed to avoid, and I also need to start clearing out a load of spare parts and engines from a mate's unit as he's finally sorted out some access to them. I'm unlikely to have time to do anything fun this weekend as a result 😥
