I'll go check on it in a bit. Smells like a pub urinal now which is better...

Then one last clean of the container and a wipe down of the roof. Currently cutting racking

I’m beginning to think that the staff / forumites need a uniform.

The picture above was taken at 21:39. It takes a brave man to start a head gasket job as the sun sets.

General theme of the day was the Toledo. It doesn't have much paint on it, but it seems a tidy little car otherwise. Starts and runs really well, and almost everything seems to work. I was amazed at how solid the interior was, nothing seemed loose or aged and there is a noticeable lack of squeaks and rattles from the dashboard and trim!

Yey! Was the mould better on the seats? I forgot to look before I left

Is it still running?

Yes! Gave it a good thrashing down the A421, no (new) noises appeared and the header tank still contains water. Result.

Of course, I'm assuming that I've done something wrong/forgotten something and in another 50 miles or so it'll hurl all its toys out of the pram in epic fashion. Oh well, it was good practise - and I've acquired another 20+ scars on my hands to impress teh_laydeez with. Please never, ever ask me to help change a head gasket on anything less than 30 years old.

Thanks to everyone who lent me tools/offered suggestions/watched with interest/made K-series jokes/etc.

Stunning result. I’m endeared to that little Rover even more the longer that it survives against all odds.

Excellent news on the Rover, well done!  Thanks again to @Six-cylinder for hosting an excellent weekend, great to catch up with old and new faces.

Can't say for sure if it was better than before, but it was fairly honking inside.  Slightly better after being aired out for an hour or so.

Another great weekend at the FoD. Thanks everyone who came over this weekend.

Some laid around, others stood around all being useful!

Even the weather played its part and sprinkled on the freshly polished Toledo to make sure it was beading correctly!

Thanks to @Mrs6C and @Six-cylinder for an awesome weekend once more!

and many thanks to @MrDuke and @GoGently for the lifts from and to the station

meaning I managed to ride in a Rover 45, Triumph Toledo and a Triumph Acclaim, so I managed to tick the BLARG (LOL) box pretty well as this time round :)

(and it was awesome to see that I was not to be the Rover 45's last passenger!)

the Toledo goes pretty well and rides well as well, reminding me again as to what happened to cars with actual suspension and ride comfort, the only weird thing was the seats, which felt like they only went about half way up my back, and as such I felt like I was constantly about to fall backwards as a result LOL

heres my poor attempt at a gratuitous beading shot after @AnthonyG polished it up

oh and I almost forgot, a few spots on the way to and from home

first of all one for the rail bashers, it was quite amusing everyone coming down to the platform was completly baffled by it, to be fair I have no idea what it was about either, guessing some sort of heritage outing of some kind?

IMG_0274.thumb.JPG.84ca18fb364cf41498858ba9a998aba3.JPG

twas nice to see these about despite the ULEZ!

and finally one for the bus enthusiasts, wonder how a vintage bus on a low loader ended up in Central London like this! wonder which it is!

Today I took the E3 out for a 15 mile ride now the carbs have been rejetted. It started easily both cold and hot. It has never felt so lively, the problem is moving away the first few revs after tick over launch the car and pulling away smoothly in traffic is very tricky.

The rest of the list is long:

·         Driver’s seat belt jammed in

·         Handbrake pretty poor

·         Front n-s wind winder broken

·         Rear o-s window winder broken

·         Dashboard indicators warning light does not work

·         Exhaust knocking and rubber rings were laying on the drive

·         Rev counter not working

·         Tinkling noise coming from the front

·         Boot lid has stiff part of the sweep when closing it

·         Boot lid tool box broken
