Obviously there's the cameras perspective at play but there's no disguising the bulk of a w140 coupe, looks like it could swing open its vast bonnet can swallow up that cx!

My ( German) father in law says it was so much wider than anything else at launch it wouldn't fit on the motorail to (popular holiday destination) Sylt, much to the disgruntlement of rich German families.

Not if the CX stood up on tip toes!

With the weather we've had lately and from the thread title update I thought the water would be up to the door handles at least!

This road with its ford serves the out-laws and two other houses and you are right it is a while since I have seen it wild but this is low water with a borrowed Jaguar 420G I had the use of for a year.

First I must admit to failure to do my duty and make the collection thread live, it did involve a lift to the station two trains and a pick up from the seller. At Shitefest 2016 this year I am going to ask for somebody to teach me and help me with posting live to this forum, as I just can’t workout how to do it on my Samsung.

As some will know following my lust for a Metro I took on Dodgytoms Rover 114 GSi with HGF but the quick fix of bunging a new head gasket on did not work, so I decided to ponder for a while what to do next. The lust for a Metro was reawakened by this car and not only did I start looking at engine ads but whole cars!

I started exchanging emails with a seller of a cheap MOTed car, always a dangerous thing to do, again a less than ideal model but he convinced me it was worth having. So today was collection day and a trip to Birmingham. I have bought another K series 5 door when I wanted a 1275cc A series 3 door!

I was pleased with what I got for my money, a 1998 Rover 114 SLi which has done just 36,052 miles, it feels very lively and drives well, of coarse there a couple of faults the worst being the rear wheel arches.

Ah and yes those wheels really do not suit it.

After the MOT ran out on my No. 2 Visa 17RD last July I put it in storage then I got it out to sell it but that did not work out. It stood around for a while but now I have it MOTed and taxed again. For the MOT it needed very little, a rear light unit because the corner was broken, a repeater bulb and a bit of fuel line.

This one has an optional 5 speed gearbox so I am always changing gear.

Great news re the MOT.

Do not paint!

We painted Visa 17RD No.1 last year, now the GS is being done and the Alfa Giulietta is next!

Today I put away my "New" Visa 17RD into storage while I sort out some other cars and got out my other Visa 17RD to MOT it and fit a new bonnet in preparation for a trip to Holland May Day weekend.

Then come the Magnificent shitefest I think if it survives Holland it will be the car of choice!

I managed to photo them together as they changed spaces.

Would you have owned it when I got this photo back in 2013?

I have owned the C reg Visa for 7 years and yes Buckingham Tesco. I like to use a smaller car for Tesco because it is easier to park, use less fuel and my shopping does not roll around the boot. Lately Mrs Cyl has been using the ZX so I have been using the Mercedes or Volvo estates but now I am spoiled for choice between the Metro and Visa. After spending a lot of time and money on Visa 17RD No.1 I have now become a bit over protective towards it and don't like to use it for shopping.

After my adventure yesterday to collect the BX estate, today after a bit of time in the office I had a mundane job to do, after the wheel bearing failed on our 8x4 trailer last weekend I needed to get it fixed for next weekend. So the usual amount of tight bolts and torment to drive the bearing out of the hub it came apart so I could read the part numbers and I just had time to buy the new bearings. I bought the side that had not failed as well and if I can find some time tomorrow afternoon I will carry on.

I have included the first BX pictures on my drive, just by luck in one it ended up next to the Xantia as I used it to tow the trailer back to the house today.

I also made up key rings for the BX so I can spot them among my other Citroen keys!

The BX looks very at home there. Which is preferable to it looking at home here :D

I have taken the BX to a garage this afternoon that are going to do a pre MOT check for me, It started on the button and drove well. I collected one of my Visa Diesels and got a photo of BX meets Visa!

I used the Metro 1.4 this morning and the fuel looked low just above the red so I refueled it, I only put in 21.1 Ltrs (4.65 gals) to fill it for 188.1 miles which gives 40.5 mpg. I think the fuel gauge is a bit pessimistic as it should have a 7.3 gal tank.

Yay, you've restored the Buckingham BX balance after Jackytwoshoes bought the green one that used to live near me.

If I remember where you are it is even closer to you now, it is in Sherington waiting its turn for attention.
