Interior was cleaned out and the damp carpet / seats and woodlice removed.

Whilst its probably possible to weld it up with this in place id rather not have the same experience someone whos  previously welded on it had! Crispy.

I also have two road bikes.

The Peugeot 103 I am ashamed to say after all the hard work Panhard65 put into it finding and fitting a replacement crankshaft, I have not got rounds to finishing the odds and sods like refitted covers and a new fuel line.

The Aprilia Habana 125cc Scooter I loved the looks of so much I bought it as an incentive to do my CBT and it just sits in the garage. I guess it just needs a service and MOT as it was a working bike with MOT when I bought it 3 years ago.

When i do any welding i like to leave a few hours cooling off before locking up.  This is the time i use to do odd jobs.

Filter past its prime about 20 years ago. 20200919_185147.thumb.jpg.0d900ee32c10581d049efbee90bee1cc.jpg

When i pulled the filter out the number didnt cross over to anything on the system at work.  A quick flick through some old catalogues and still nothing.

I went with the " what old tat is in stock for a few pence"  method And opted for an old stock vauxhall nova air filter.

A trim and a blob of glue later. Sorted

I like that both for the 'engineering' and also proper old school motor factor sleuthing!

At least now you have the means to transport them to the FoD for collective AS tinkerage. Another open weekend before the weather turns?

HECK YES.

We're never in 'project groups' of greater than six, so we're golden.

Yes that would be good.

I can't find any obvious good weather spells looking at forecasts ahead, anything you have spotted?

Is that not a valid reason in its own right to own a motorbike trailer?

strap the 2 bikes to the trailer, hook up to range rover, someone can sit in the boot with camera then the FOD visitors could take turns to replicate scenes of John & Poncharello in CHiPs 🤣

After months of waiting for the DVLA I finally have the 323i log book in my name. This morning I am taking it to my favourite garage for service and MOT.

...I've been reminded that the E36 range is now 30 years old!

I always thought the E36 marked the point at which the 3-Series became seriously popular - it seemed that loads of people had one - the German equivalent of the Ford Escort.

It was really the model before that started wide spread sales of BMWs. User choosers could get a low spec 316 or a Sierra 2.0i Ghia for the same price, some bought the BMW because they felt so well put together compared to the Ford, most for the badge. In 1988 my next door neighbour was one of the converts.

Smart looking thing. I've been reminded that the E36 range is now 30 years old!

In 1991 I started working for a Vauxhall dealer and the guy I had replaced had started work for a BMW dealer. He visited with his new E36 325i and I gave it a run up the road and was seriously impressed.

I also have a blue E36 328i Msport coupe that I have had for the last 9 years, Very Autoshite, yes tatty but still great fun to drive.

I didn't see that many E30s being sold outside of London and the South-East, whereas the E36's popularity seemed to be much more widespread.
