Six-cylinder Posted September 9, 2019 Author Posted September 9, 2019 When I bought this at 6 years old it was quite posh and I did not say much about. When it became old, rusty and broken I have posted a few of my woes, but tonight I used it and it is still a great bit of kit. Mrs6C, The Moog, Andyrew and 1 other 4
dollywobbler Posted September 9, 2019 Posted September 9, 2019 May well be up for the field meet. Might be the ideal opportunity to swap back from Beemer to Matiz in fact. Retr0naut, Mrs6C and LightBulbFun 3

Luckily I still had my original RR and a P38 as it snowed a lot 2010 into 2011. Heidel_Kakao, beko1987, Sudsprint and 1 other 3 1
beko1987 Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 I remember that snow! I had my first driving test in 2010 in that snow it was cancelled, despite my lesson the day before going very well (taught me alot that did, and now I can just work from home if it snows!)

Six-cylinder Posted September 10, 2019 Author Posted September 10, 2019 I am still struggling with the air con pipe for the black 156 and the 3 obtained so far don’t fit. Today I took the broken pipe to Bee cool in Kettering as they say they can have it welded. I had to collect the pipe from Andy Blake in Northampton and parked my AX next to my own 156. Is an AX a classic, it seems not really in spite of seeing very few on the road, this morning while driving mine flashing and waving produced no response from either the white M reg 5 door in Northampton or the blue P reg 3 door in Kettering. worldofceri, Skizzer and richardmorris 3
richardmorris Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 I think this may be beyond back-to-black’s help. I’ve done it three times now, and it just keeps fading to grey. I have no intention of polishing the whole beast, but tried the spoiler as that it quite visibly poor. Didn’t help much though. I have gelled the tyres though. Mrs6C, Six-cylinder and Sudsprint 3
Stanky Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Have you tried boiled linseed oil applied to the plastic with an old rag?

richardmorris Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 £20! Ha! Ask the owner to stump up i used the kickdown this morning on the way up the hill from wentworth on the a30. I am convinced I saw the fuel gauge needle quiver and drop a segment. 100 miles now. ive already had the red light of doom though - on starting this morning the low coolant lit up. Looked fine, splashed a little in and it went off. Must be very sensitive.

It is only the Visas that get the Wurth grey at £30 a tube! Retr0naut 1

dean36014 Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 It's such a shame as the Xm is such a decent drive and bob on mechanically. The paintwork however is another matter unfortunately. Six-cylinder 1
Six-cylinder Posted September 10, 2019 Author Posted September 10, 2019 Now for something completely different, this afternoon I had to go back to school to finish my education. Milton Keynes Classic Car Club had arranged with a primary school to help them with a transport project they are working on. This afternoon a dozen cars turned out including me with our Metro. I did not take photos for obvious reasons but imagine the scene 70, 5-6 year olds mobbed us and asked important questions like where is the horn! A MX5 who could pop up its headlights on request cause some amusement. Next to me was a 2017 Challenger Hellcat in bright green the noise alone nearly knocked a child over when he started it! A very pleasant afternoon and I hope it inspired them to work on their project and maybe later spark an interest in classic cars. worldofceri, Brodders, Skizzer and 11 others 14
