It was pretty good until it was 7 years old, then...........

didnt it need a rest on the way home on the initial trip?

It only ever had 3 years and then you had to pay £1,000+ a year. I had such bad experience with selling and local Land Rover dealers I abandoned the idea of main dealer servicing it and paying for the extended warranty. I have now found a Land Rover Specialist in Milton Keynes who seem good.

Just joking, but anything less than 10 seems new to me.

No that was the driver doing Autoshite meeting in Scotland.

I was embarrassed and got a lift so I didn't turn up in a young Range Rover, now it much more broken and autoshite.

Sunday is the annual Lancia Gamma consortium lunch and I am booked to go. It is nice to get as many Gamma's gathered together so today @Slowsilverhelped me get my Gamma out of storage. It started well enough on its own battery.

We ran it up to temperature andstopped it to check the oil and water, after that it was difficult to start and ran poorly, misfiring. I drove it home from storage but it was not happy. I took the cap/rotor arm off but they looked good. At that point it was getting dark and Slowsilver wanted to go home for his tea so I am not sure if it is useable or not.

Obviously it's @Slowsilver who makes the difference here. He is the 'Car Whisperer', you know. Take him to the Gamma luncheon with you and the car will behave perfectly.

I tried to recreate that photo at 10.40pm last night but couldnt get the angle 😂

Trying to get home from Wolverton, I wanted to go down the a5 and the fast way home but the a5 was closed, so had to go the hateful countryside route. Then Whitchurch was fully closed for resurfacing so had to go the way I truly hate back into Thame! On the positive side I think I've smacked my tracking more straight than it was... Or I've got an egg in the tyre, not looked yet...

Pulled in there to roll some smokes and rub my eyes, I really don't get on well with night time driving at the moment. Luckily I missed the 3 muntjacks that threw themselves infront of me

Yesterday was MK Modern Classics meet, first one for a while. A bit down on numbers but what a range of cars and my Sigma found a Delica friend.

@Prince_of_darkness91 bought his R8 convertible.

Did I mention breakfast bap with egg, bacon, sausage and a coffee for £5!

Today was the annual Lancia Gamma Italian lunch. 7 Gamma's made it this year.

Ours coughed and spluttered at times but made it there and back.

There were 5 coupes and 2 Saloons, I bought the Berlina (Saloon) rather than the coupe because I like the shape better, what do others think?

Coupe for me but the fact any of these are still running should win some sort of Blue Peter Autoshite badge.

Is this annual meet a sort of self-help group where you discuss how to break your habit?

I mean, some of the bits for my Maestro are hard to find but this is another level of parts trawling.

Today turned into another car day!

@Andyrew came to see me and said is there anything I can help you with!

Yes and Yes my Renault 4 and Seicento won't start.

The Renault 4 turned out to be the throttle return spring had become disconnected so it was wide open with max air flow while I was trying to start it cold. When the spring was hooked up it started straight away. The base plate for the air filter bolts had pulled it out of the carburettor so we managed to recut threads in one, glue one in and wedged a piece of cable tie in the third to screw against. It now doesn't wobble.  Then the wipers started working again but slowly and needed some help.

Andy turned his attention to the Seicento, it seemed like a flat battery but Andy’s knowledge shone through and he said seized alternator and sure enough that is the problem.

We then took the Gamma and Renault to storage and got out the Astra and my Morris 1300. Andy lowered his standards to drive the Morris having arrived in a Vanden Plas!

Here's a question I never thought I'd be in a position to ask: What's the collective noun for the Lancia Gamma?

I’d prefer the coupé to be honest.

The Gamma Coupe is a beautiful car but I think the Berlina has more character.

Imagine one in black on its home turf circa 1980 - you wouldn’t know whether it would be transporting an aristocrat, cardinal or Mafia don!
