I can't see a price, but as far as I can see it's worth nothIng. It's totally broken and incomplete. Perhaps the saddle is useable but that's it.

Only if the frame isn't fucked, though.

All the bikes I've seen have got a triangle either side of the rear wheel, just saying....

To be fair given the price of mini's these days that would be a good place to start building a grass tracker or ministox

was owned by an old woman near me. needs some welding to arches and sills for an mot. engine was removed and sold on as planned to do 2.0 conversion but plans now changed. generally quite clean and solid and drive well on way home[/img]

Hopefully it gets saved, but worth more with the standard engine than yet another XE conversion, or even no engine.

this bloke on ebay

lots of nice stuff but then again lots of old hinges, used clutch plates etc

But this one made me chuckle

Yes it is used, no indication of mileage but that is academic surely? by the time you had stripped the engine down and cursed at broken studs etc would you really fit a 2nd hand part known for stretching while you look at it? Or would you probably buy new at £20ish

and this one, "lots" sic of friction material.

It just looks contaminated to fuck, maybe wrong but I was always taught it was a false economy not to replace the cover and thrust bearing as you would only curse when it was all back together again. Clearly an almost fucked, contaminated plate is the way to go :D

It's difficult to imagine how a car can rust as badly as that Escort! Has it spent those 25 years buried in salt or something!?

Posted

Er no, it was in a barn of course

Edit: just read the advert and chuff me it was a barn. Amazing things barns not only do they have owls but they have every rusty car in the world.

Reshelling what? Interior... fucked... Engine... Seized...

To be fair you could be buying one of those new shells from China to build up a rally car and it's a 3 door so there would be loads of parts to scrounge off it, plus non sunroof roofs were fetching between £5-700

Posted

They've had new mk1 2 door shells re manufactured in China.

Sadly I think your assessment of some poor sod losing theirs is as likely - on the plus side the number plate was clearly visible and was doubtless reported numerous times so when it reappears there should be searching questions asked

Edit me bad memory mk2 shells are available now last price I saw was 7k mk1 shells being talked about

This listing was ended by the seller because there was an error in the listing.

You say this - but I bought 50 (yes, count em) magnatax holders branded AA a short while after the abolition of the disc for a works permit ( I wanted one, but teh seller had a pack of 50 for £4 delivered.

I used a couple, kept a couple for spares and lobbed the rest on one at a time for £1.10 delivered each - they sold like fooking hot cakes.

Some days I was selling four or five a day.

They call it care in the comminuty

Ringadingding I'd say, I bet that needs a good £10k of panels and welding before you even get to the mechanical side
