Photograph the other side and ebay it

I had a Kalos 1.2.  I paid just over 300 quid for it IIRC, but it was sans dents.

My French is tres rusty, but doesn't that mean without teeth?

meh parking dents  :D

if they dont stop the door opening or the wheel pointing the right way then its no problem...

(youve driven in luton right?? :D )

Sold already? I didn't realised the Market for crash damaged Kaloses/Kaloi was so buoyant.

I actually do like it! When I see the (daylight) pictures of it, I can already imagine straightening out the bodywork and bashing on some Daewoo wheeltrims.

But thats just me, maybe I need therapy...

New owner reported it drove home 30 odd miles away 'surprisingly well.'

Happy days all round!

Please supply more details of the purchaser and their plans for this little car with the big heart, not trying to be derogatory or anything but if it moved 6 feet let alone 30 miles under its own steam it drives better than it looks.

You should like it. The design work was by ItalDesign, meaning it shares a bloodline with the Isuzu Piazza, Maserati 3200GT and, of course, the Morris Ital.

If this one's a signed original it could well be worth over a million pounds.

Unbelievably, my trader mate has managed to knock this out for £280, six scrap batteries and two scrap catalytic convertors!

Right, in other news (this is now going to be my official* wanky blog thing, now) I've just managed to secure the holy grail of all Corsas. This time I've doe it the right way by buying it on the strength of one picture...

and it doesn't have a battery AND it was last MOT'd in 2013. WCPGW?

And for good measure I might be getting this, too...

Indeed, and not just any Isuzu, either. It's only the bleeding 1.5TD, innit?

That Kalos resembles the condition of around 60% of the motors I spot when out & about in County Dublin...(In fact, it would probably by classed as 'VGC' by Irish standards...  :-) )

Shame about the VRT thing - "CAVCRAFT'S IRISH EXPORT SERVICE" might have been a goer  :-P

I have the urge to machine polish that Astra and black up the back bumper  :-P

Was the dog in the car when you bought it?

Posted

No, but I had to carry the lazy sod about 1/4 mile as he'd decided he couldn't be arsed walking past a certain point.

I'd have thought so, but I won't lose any sleep if it doesn't. Just have to hope the mechanics are ok and it's not too far off an MOT. I can stand one or the other, would prefer decent mechanics though as I'll engine (and box and fuel tank) bum it if I have to.

NICE VOXALL ADM M8. More details of this and the Corsa appreciated. We're going to be in the market for a cheap runaround soon. PAS not necessary. In fact, lack of preferred.

The Corsa will (hopefully) be a keeper, the Astra is up for grabs though.

Astra:

1.4 8V Merit automatic

Keep fit windows

Power steering

LOLs at central locking

Aftermarket alarm

Three owners (all same family) from new

MOT 17th Feb (two weeks time)

Last one seems to have gone through with two advisories, both tyres and I think they're ok. Spare brand new

Rear aches intact, bodywork surprisingly good bar small-ish dent on n/s/r quarter

Very genuine little thing, I don't think there's a single bodge or horrible 'accessory' (bar nasty wheel trims) in site.

I reckon if you listen carefully (and I had to lie under the car to hear it) there's a v.slight blow in the xhaust somewhere.

Tracking out (steering wheel not straight)

Probably due a service as the history is not that good, though there's a few nice 'old giffer' touches to the paperwork.

It'll be cheap (sub £250, for sure) and for (your) cost I'm happy to take it for an MOT.

*Edit: needs an almighty polish, can do this when I'm better and my buffer decides to work again.
