A few more. It's the wrong time of year for this sort of thing really, I've hardly managed to photograph anything of note lately.

1985 VW Golf cabriolet by barrogance, on Flickr

I found this early Mk2 R5 quite appealing actually, but annoyingly it was an automatic I think so essentially useless as a means of transport. Tidy, though, and only on its second owner

Still earning a living I think, in a shite-rich but slightly sketchy bit of London which probably deserves a return visit

I've known about this for ages but it's in a really awkward place to stop and photograph, so only got round to doing so today

1982 Ford Fiesta 1.1L by barrogance, on Flickr

That's all for now. Very disappointing. I have found a rotting De Tomaso in a front garden near my office which I will snap asap, though, so stay tuned for that one

That tranny almost looks like it's got white rattle can overspray all over the tires. See the original tide mark line underneath not quite enough white paint. And has that back panel been sprayed in to hide an old logo on the side? Proper low earnings window cleaner spec in shocking condition.

I concur with you over the British cars thing.  My dad sold cars from home throughout the 70s and 80s and hated British (he had a particular aversion to Fords), so mainly traded European stuff especially Fiat, Lancia, Citroen and Renaults.  I remember he loved French and Italian cars, my mum had two Fiat 850 Coupes in the seventies.

My only memory of driving a Herald is that the thing all felt loose, just a collection of bits.  Something you certainly couldn't say about an Ami.

Flippin' heck that R5's clean.  Look at the wheels!  Mega-early on a B; I can even forgive it being Junkm*n-spec.  How hard could it be to fit a 5-speeder from a late Campus, I wonder.

Also, the plate on that Fiesta.  Brilliant.

Time for another small update. This shabby Granny was the only interesting car I saw in two days in Harrogate

Great stuff Scott...

Surprised you had disappointing shite spotting in Harrogate. Although there is a lot of cash about there is usually a lot of shite about. Normally always interesting yank spec LHD stuff driving round too. Cos of Menwith Hill...

In a moment of weakness I decided I was done with old cars, and went to the local Skoda dealer to get the gen on a little grey Fabia. This was in there, owned by the boss and proudly on display. Remember when Skoda weren't so proud of their heritage? It had a backwards gear shift pattern, just like a Pegaso Z102.

Yeah that 280SE is indeed the bollocks. I love luxury cars in battleship grey and those plates just add to it for me. Fantastic! Great spots all round in fact, especially the Commer and the unmolested Saab.

This goes considerably towards earning an I-Spy badge. Good spotting. Interestingly, there is a similar old Skoda (convertible) in the Sparshatts showroom in Fareham.

I really like those Cit C35/Fiat 242s, as you say, it is normally the Citroen version that is prevalent. The Pick-up versions look really ungainly, thus are ace...

That Mk1 Transit, having a diesel front end, looks a lot like the one 'that was the only example left...' on that restoration programme the other night....
