I love the fact that only the Russians can make a modern car look like a random concept car from the 1980s.

I remember the first time I saw this in Top Gear mag, spotting the Alfa 164 rear lights and immediately loving it.

On the other side of the coin, you could get a Chevrolet Forester in India.

That looks like a Vicarage conversion to me. Vicarage have been restoring Mk2 Jags since the late 1980's and will build you a bespoke Cabriolet Mk2 and looks like they will do a Daimler to..

That is just a rebadged Captur, same as my missus's

Yep, Mitsubishi have returned* to Europe with some rebadged Renaults. LHD markets only.

Possibly because dealers in France/Germany/wherever have better legal options if a well-established brand decides to just FRO after 40 years? i.e. give me a product to sell or I will sue your arse off.

The long-established Hereford Mitsubishi dealer now sells KGMs, which appear to be rebadged Ssanyongs. No idea what KGM means/stands for and if that’s just for the UK or across Europe.

Thanks, very intersting. Absolutely love it, the shape really lends itself to the conversion, just so nice.  That with the v8 burble of the daimler version…..🤤

We used to have a Saab 9-2x when I was based in Florida.

Was a Subaru Impreza Sports-wagon with some upgrades and a fancy Saab badge. Only available for a couple of years I think?

Idly scrolling through eBay classic cars as you do, yielded this late 60s Yo!JDM Honda I've never heard of in my life.

KGM is the new name for Ssangyong. KG Mobility Corporation is the latest in a long line of companies (Daewoo, SAIC, Mahindra) to rescue Ssangyong from bankruptcy.

They decided, from March 2023, to rebrand in an attempt at a clean break from the old 'tainted' name. Ssangyongs are now KGM's throughout the world.

They've kept the logo though, which represents a dragon.

Feels like a bad idea,  KGM sounds like a new Chinese brand if you don't know about the rebrand.   Admittedly Ssangyong doesn't have the brand cachet of Land Rover (or even Vauxhall) but people will grudgingly admit they're reliable.
