Suzuki LJ20. Never knew these came with a 360cc two stroke!

And finding that ^ lead me to this, the Hopestar ON360

All pictures of HopeStar ON360 '1967–68

It seems Suzuki didn't have a lot of knowledge of how to build a 4x4, so bought out a company that did and rebodied/re-engined theirs!

Looks like Vanden Plas Princess lights to me.

They are indeed.

Often the posher* versions were 5-dr only. Think they weren't as popular as the 3-dr.

Really? They were everywhere. I must have known a dozen people who had them over the years

I was born after the last rover 100 left the factory🤣 and out of what I see today posted online I just see 3 door metros so assumed all were 3 doors.

Also was only a few months ago where I discovered the nova had a saloon and the marina had a coupe

Fair enough 🤣 I think I just assumed you hadn't noticed them at the time!

I don't think that many people paid close attention to Metros when they were new

Not the car, but is Montreux still where very rich people go to die?

Lea-Francis Ace of Spades

A 1980s attempt to revive Lea-Francis. To me it looks like similar to something Exner could have designed for Stutz

Gosh, that's... visually challenging.  Metro front lights, or Nova/Corsa A...?

That's putting it mildly. :D

I'd never seen one of these sad looking little things until recently, a Perodua Kenari (that's a pic off Google) - I'm still trying to find something I like about it.

Barrie Price bought the company  in the 1960's when it went bust. He then sporadically made a few of these.  Still alive I think in his 90's now.

Here he is interviewed about his life:

Renault Safrane. I didn't know it was a thing. I've got no recollection of ever seeing one either.

Almost as practible as a Yaris Verso, in some markets.

Chris "Red Dwarf" Barrie described it more like a Joker card.
