I like the fact that if you look at the photo after reading Blx comment, it looks horrifically offended in a Y Tho way.

Kewet Buddy electric car used in train track protest (again), this ...

Atomkraft? Nein Danke.

The irony of protesting about a power plant, in an electric car.

Funny, I thought that. Assuming the thing is being charged, using the National Grid, at 18:20 on 18/8/20 11% of the electricity  is coming from nuclear.

Interesting that these ancient comedy Septic electric things have the same range as most current ( geddit?)  plug in hybrids.

Three-door bingo. Three back seats, but no back seats.

Why? I can't see any advantage in this over the five-door.

The very early ones were all 3-door, but sales fell off a cliff when the much more practical 5-door came out.

If I remember my Portuguese correctly, Formigao means a  small ant. A bit of, probable, useless info.

Ah, as in formic acid, from ants etc. That makes sense.

Shamelessly stolen from a subreddit called r/weirdwheels but supremely* interesting. It's a collection of North Korean vehicles. I imagine there's a heck of a lot of rehashing here

*Downgraded to 'quite interesting' after going through the lot

From a quick glance I thought it said Fromage - wedge shaped and a bit of a whiff about it.

Which brings me to this - the Sebring-Vanguard Citicar an American electric car using 6 volt batteries with a range of 35 miles. Phun Phact - 4444 were made and they held the post war production  record for US made electric cars until beaten by the Tesla Model S. There's an automatic car wash local to me that has one of these on a revolving plinth sat outside.

Amazingly the plate is still registered and some Aussie looked it up. Apparently it's a 'Valcoupe' - a little digging and apparently it was built by a Formula 500 racer called Ron Learnan using VW parts. Looks great, and it's nice to think it's still out there somewhere...

It's just a visual warning to what happens to an Austin Princess when you run it through their car wash.  It shrinks like kiddies T-shirt

It's definitely a hotel which YOU can visit (on an official state organised trip). It does have private offices in the First Class Exclusive rooms - perhaps Kim Long Daley has permanent residence?

Exclusive rooms in the Pothonggang Hotel come with their private offices. The hotel is located in a tranquil part of Pyongyang

Details of the hotel, and fascinating insights into North Korea can be found here -

Yes I saw it, very interesting the North Koreans he met seemed very personable and not the ogres portrayed by certain elements of the press (quelle surprise). I visited the DDR, Czechoslovakia, Hungary and Poland whilst they were still behind the iron curtain, and when they were transitioning to the 'west', and in all cases the countries were fascinating and the people were just like us....

The people they let Palin meet being personable isn't much of a surprise, murderous tyrants are big on PR control; I'm sure the average NK is just like us, except they've been living in an information vacuum where unsupervised contact with the outside world makes you a security threat to be sent to the camps and been fed a steady message that imperialist running dogs want to murder them and eat their children and that one day the oppressed brothers and sisters in the south will be freed from capitalistic despottery by the triumphant forces of Juche.

Supposedly the Pre-war Soviet Union had villages of actors so that visiting dignitaries would think it really was a workers paradise.

Iraq used similar tactics pre-2003.

At one time China would only let in tourists in groups with government provided guides (really secret police officers) to make sure nothing awkward happened.  I believe North Korea has similar measures.
