Just don't do it they are total shit. My sister had the bright idea of buying one a couple of years ago. I thought my '03 megane dci was an unreliable money pit but the Pt put it to shame. Someone at work had a diesel. It did 28mpg on a run and lost a drag race to my then 309 xud n/a.

They remind me of ZZ Top. I still recall a convoy of 15 or so of these turds arriving at Tatton Park classic car show. At least one was equipped with a CB radio. The convertible version is truly horrific.

A guy I work with has a 2 litre petrol in 'Limited' spec, 03 plate, he's had it from new and its only done 20K miles but sounds utterly fucked despite hes not short of a few quid and doesn't skimp on maintenance, it consumes as much oil as it does fuel (which is shitloads, its expensive to tax, and his has chrome effect wheels which leak badly meaninbg he blows his tyres up every day as due to the design they can't be fixed/refurbed. It is beige though!

 

His wife has a 53 plate auto too, which even he as a self confessed PT fan says is appalling to drive, no power, thirsty and scary to pull out of a junction in.

I don't hate them as much as I probably should, and after all, Autoshite is meant to be about the unloved shitheaps. So if one turned up a block away when I needed a car in a nice dark metallic with none of the god-awful Halfrauds shit that seems to grow on most of them like hogweed in a hedgerow, with a year's ticket, for around a monkey I probably would, just to annoy the H8RZ.

I'd drive one of those long before I'd drive anything with a tractor engine...

I never see 'any of these' here in Ireland these days on the road; in fact I haven't actually seen one here 'on the road' in the last 2 or 3 years; I did see one wrapped/twatted up at a car show on UK plates, n the last one on the road I saw here was Nordy reg one full scarf on the head wearing folk (mostly the females)... they seem to be seen as non interesting American import flotsom/rich knobs, impractical 'bought on a whim' folly- either or/both ... there were a few on the roads when they were new/newish- but not that many /in great numbers...

 

...you might still see one randomly advertised online here on adverts etc with electrical, or 'don't know what the craic is wudnt start one day' mechanical mysteries woes -with 1 or 2 pics of it parked on grass/in a yard, n the seller doesn't know what the craic is with it 'sold as seen'...
