Nec classic car show November

Can be difficult to get a stand. BX Club managed it for the previous two years (I arranged the first one) but no luck this year. Still usually plenty of shite floating around the halls though. Well worth attending, but one day isn't really enough to comfortably get around. I made that mistake last year...

I've plumped to pay a bit extra this year to go on the Friday to avoid the mahooosive weekend crowds. It's a great day out, even Alfafemale looks forward to it.

Been the last 3 years. Not going t make it this year. Well worth it, and better to take 2 days as its massive.

I'm going on the Friday again, it's a fab show but I recommend getting there early and leaving late, it's £10 to park but you can pay when you leave and if you stay late enough you can drive out without even paying.

It's also worth bringing a backpack with some lunch in as it's quite expensive and busy around the food stand plus if you buy anything you can carry it around in the backpack.

There will be a Rover 800 stand, I'm told! I'm not doing it this year, already done one NEC event and that was enough for me.

All good advice. If you can't be arsed waiting until really late to leave, it's £5 a day to park at Birmingham International, and you can get to the halls entirely under cover (which isn't true of the NEC car parks). That's what I usually do. The only challenge is finding the pay machines (in the actual station, helpfully).

Spot on Trig, I'm going on the Friday too and yes definitely about the backpack/food idea. Cost me £31 for three sandwiches, drinks and crisps. RIP OFF BRITTEN.

I'm going to this too, to collect my beer off BenjyP10 in a shite filled environment. Bliss!!!

It really is a brill show. Went up Friday last year, then drove up again from Kent on the Sunday to have another look. I'd deffo be going again this year. Worth noting, traffic was a friggin 'mare on the Friday.

We've got a stand there in the classic trader village so I'm down there from Thursday. Can't wait, I really love doing the NEC.

Come and say hello will you, it's always nice to put faces to names and all that!

I went for the first time last year on the Sat and Sun. The best times were from 4pm on the Sat and from first thing Sun as most of the crowds weren't there. I was able to get some good pictures and talk to guys and gals on the stands.

I stayed at the Premier Inn at the NEC as I booked a long time ago and got it cheap.

Doing the same again this year :-D

I'd echo the comments about going on the Friday - I'd only ever been at a weekend before last year when I was on a stand and it was so much better wandering round and actually being able to see stuff! As it happens I have that week off between jobs, so hoping to go down Friday this time so long as I get domestic chores sorted...

My mate's FSO 125P will be there in glorious people's beige, complete with whitewall tyres. Shitetastic. Sadly it's just too fookin expensive for me to go atm

hopefully be there on the Saturday courtesy of my mates in the Supersport register. :)

Nope, sorry. Too far away, and my dailies are comparable to the exhibits ,only muddier!

Looks like it's Saturday for me now (really wanted friday) as it's the only day my mate can manage. If I can get anywhere we're stopping over the night before and after to maximise the time. As he's not a shitter we'll have to make time to see the special* cars

I'm just sorting out my tickets for this. Like how there is a distinct 'seniors' price thats excatly the same as the 'adult' price. Also the discount code in the adverts they have sent to my hotmail doesnt work. Last year they sent me a letter with a 'discount code' in that provided a discount of exactly 0%.

£38.50 for two people!!! Its gonna gost me more to get in to collect my beer than it would to buy it myself from the supermarket!!! Still, my dad is driving down so he can cop the pez cost at least.

Posted

I know sod all about these things go but someone that runs an unnamed forum was getting sent about 20 free tickets. Don't know how or why as I dint get that far and haven't seen them since.

Think next year there needs to be an autoshite stand that way we all get I for nowt and everyone can come and praise the beige

£1.50 charge to print my own tickets off at home!!! WTF!!! Move over Ryanair

Posted

I reckon the tickets are just a set price with nearly every mutha getting the same 'discount' codes to make people think there really is a good reason for being in the Matra Rancho club or whatever.

Obviously there will be a couple of people who pay £3 more for each ticket but they are probably the same people from the small island next to Sark where they don't even have cars who probably also have the only Tesco store in the world that actually charges 'full price' for the vino collapso and have never heard of the DFS sale.
