NorfolkNWeigh Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 I liked the Princess seats and the rear seats in the Allegro - also like the Rover 800 too. I have poverty cloth seats in the RR and they are far comfier than the leather - fantastic lumber support. Posh Carlton was good too..Teddy bear is NOT poverty! brickwall 1
Station Posted October 21, 2014 Author Posted October 21, 2014 They look suspiciously like my old Fuego seats! Is it a Renault 25?

AlabamaShrimp Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 I will have to go with most French cars for being the most comfy with the best I can remember sitting in being the C15, i assume their the same as the Visa

eddyramrod Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 70s American velour..... ohhhhhhhhhhh YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! mercrocker and Junkman 2
danthecapriman Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 That is stunning! Its like diving around in your living room, who needs a house when you could live in that! I think the yanks have the interior thing pretty well nailed, no one does it better. (disclaimer - I have absolutely no taste!) eddyramrod, vulgalour and Angrydicky 3
2MB Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Eating pasties and salted snacks looks like it'd be a really bad idea in the yank velour, but yet would be somehow fitting danthecapriman 1
eddyramrod Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 No... you need coffee and doughnuts! danthecapriman 1
Pillock Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 You need to check for the previous owner in there before you drive off, is what you need to do. danthecapriman and vulgalour 2
oman5 Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Oh yeah, I'd forgotten about the Princess its that long since I've sat in one. I had the 2.0 HLS which had folding armrests on either side of the front seats...fantastically comfy place to be. eddyramrod 1
NorfolkNWeigh Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Plastic seats, rubber mats, column change yet still one of the comfiest cars I've ever owned.Leather, wood,Wilton yet head squashed against the roof and backache after 30 minutes. My office for the last 2.5 years and 230,000 miles ,and it was supremely comfy for every one- I'm thinking that maybe I'm built more like a typical Yank than is strictly healthy- I certainly haven't got a Recaro shaped arse( copyright Martin Clunes) and Bavarian chic maybe wasn't the way to go for the next 2 years. danthecapriman 1
mercrocker Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 My 79 Grand Prix had THIS interior.....60/40 split front seat. I slept in it more than once, although the last time I did it the bloody seat back took about 36 minutes to return to normal accompanied by much burning smell...Wasn't me, honest. Honourable mention - 280SE W116 with optional velour and Renner 6 in black vinyl. Both comfy but both different. Most of my daily motoring is now done in Morris 1000 with standard seats - Mrs Merc made me some tigerskin fur covers which are fine except I have a slightly squirmy feeling that I have skinned somebody wearing a onesie.... philibusmo Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Comfy when you've broken down.20131219-03.jpg I can confirm that this very Princess back seat is the comfiest car I have ever slept in - 3 nights of some considerable comfort spent on that rear bench. The comfiest and most relaxing car I have had to drive and sit in was the XM.Those half leather seats were super comfy and nice and warm, the radio was good the suspension was soft and the arm rest was well positioned. The most relaxing car I have ever known to drive, at any speed despite how often it seemed to be broken in a way that would cause brake failure. Junkman, vulgalour and danthecapriman 3
dollywobbler Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 I had a C reg BX 19RD estate and I was miserable with back pain almost as soon as I got it. No back / bum support at all, there must be more than sort of BX seat. Yup. The itchy ones Corsaviour cherishes are terrible. No lower back support. GTi/TZD are best. Renault 21 Monaco leather seats are very good too. Very comfy. carlo and Asimo 2

Spiny Norman Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Probably not the most obvious choice for a super comfortable interior, and being a bit of an 'Italian' shape probably helps but in terms of seat comfort and general driving position combined with the nice soft leather wheel and gear lever, my Alfa 156 took a lot of beating. Sudsprint 1
Spiny Norman Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Of course, this was supremely comfy too, and smelled lovely. rml2345 1
DS20 Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 My top two: DS Pallas - much squashy velour, more comfortable than my own sitting room. Rover 800 - not as initially appealing as some, but wondrously comfy for long trips. I loved mine. eddyramrod, Lord Sterling, Sudsprint and 2 others 5
forddeliveryboy Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 I'd say you have to be hugely hungover and tired, or been driving for at least 20 hours with only a couple of 3 minute breaks to appreciate what proper comfy is. vulgalour 1
AlabamaShrimp Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Autoshite has now decended into seat porn vulgalour and NorfolkNWeigh 2
Noel Tidybeard Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 believe it or not early vectra b seats with the double lumbar adjustment have been about the best along side the 89 montego chairs
stuboy Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 best so far rover 75 velour, then bx, the mk2 mondeo ghia x leather
