Despite being a committed Volvo apologist, the 9-5 has always made me go "hnng" a little bit - nice drive too.

Welcome!

I want to like Saabs, but somehow don't. Welcome anyway though! And don't bother with the FB page...

It was in a friend's 900 that I learned what the phrase turbo lag is all about. Welcome to Autoshite by the way.

Hello!  Saab 900 is on my fantasy garage list too, so thumbs up from me.  Welcome along.

Welcome aboard!  Always room for one more loony... ;)

Greetings from the US of A.

Beautiful cars, those Saabs.  I've always had a fascination for Saabs ever since lusting over a clapped-out 1978 99 Turbo sitting on a shed peddler's forecourt when I was a teenager.  I've had three Volvos, myself, but haven't scratched the Saab itch yet.  One day, perhaps.

Hello and welcome!   Feeling a bit of Saab love here too - must try a 900 before they all disappear (from my price level)

There seems to be a lot more people saying hello than normal...... 😕

I couldn't give a rat's arse whether Links234 is a girl or not, I piped up because she's got a Rammstein lyric as a user name (or she's in the Bundeswehr), lol.

Hello to everyone who has said hello :) I just don't want to quote the many millions of posts.

Welcome!

Are you also a Rammstein fan, as suggested by your name?

Haha, yes, massive Rammstein fan, glad somebody noticed!

There seems to be a lot more people saying hello than normal......

Took me a second to get that...!

Hello and welcome from a one-time Serial Saabist, including two 900s. They seem to have nearly all disappeared now, so it's good to see another one with a future :)

Nice 900, I'd like to own one of these at some point I reckon.

You should - I'm sure you won't regret it!

Thanks, and nice to hear of more 900s. They aren't many at all left on the roads on our shores unfortunately.

We're really attracting a higher quality of shiter these days.  Either that or Dave's got a great vetting system in place.

he hasn't, I'm still here

OP, hello and welcome. Please excuse me, I mostly post "almost porn" with a car in the picture somewhere, along with a poor attempt at humour. It's not much but it makes me chuckle.

Just off to search my 477,831 porn pics for one with a SAAB, I may be some time

Thanks. On the GM thing, I wanted a nice, comfortable and quick car that wasn't a BMW or Audi, Saab was the way to go. Its very nice and very quick, so I love it!

hmm I will plead guilty to having an Audi... In my defence it's a 1997...

I must say thanks to you... it was thanks to your post on the autoshite facebook page I learned about the forum  :-D

I don't think that either of mine have survived:( The second one went in 2000 with 175,000 miles on the clock so it is unlikely to still be around (E 145 UND, but I can't check it on the DVLA website which seems to be down?) It was replaced with a brand shiny new Citroen Xsara estate, but that is a part of my life which I am trying to forget;)

Ah, you've found me out!

Ah, thats a shame. Very few survive here, partly down to the cost of road tax (€710 per anum on a 2.0, €950 on my 2.3) - most people dn't bother justifying such high tax rates on an old, and in some cases perfectly functioning car!

Strewth, thats a lot of dosh to keep a car on the road. Does it include third party insurance, or is your petrol cheaper to justify the greed of the Irish govermint?

I'm not too up to date with petrol prices in the UK, but my local petrol station is around 1.55 a litre atm, diesel is marginally cheaper so they are favored, especially post-2008 considering they pay cheaper tax too. Top rate of tax at the moment is just shy of €2k for anything above 3500cc

Cheaper diesel than petrol? I'm surprised.

anyway guten Tag, and nice Saabs!
