Blackfriars Bridge, that London, the 1930's  -

image.png.32676146ae0e4c9764e5119e0121f566.png

What London really needs is a 'Congestion Charge' and should only let vehicles with 'ultra-low emissions' into the centre. Any idea if there's any plans?

Of course it wouldn't reduce the tram jams...

Northumberland Street, NuT. Note the warning flag on the roadworks trailer. The whole lane would be coned off now-a-days.

That Triumph on the right is a reality check. It's so easy to go to classic car events and see all sorts of great cars, and to forget just how much they all rusted ..back in the day.

Look at the totally hanging CF van. Another thing you don't see (often) today - totally hanging vans I mean, not CF's.

It's St Thomas St, NuT in the late '70's.

They won't find that periscope very effective if the missus insists on leaving the nets  up to stop people looking in.

RHD - on it's way to the UK? Where it would have been very exotic against the Oxfords and Cambridges.

Where is that? Are they toll booths or security check points at the square at the top?

Is the entrance to a road tunnel? I don't recognise the city.

It is Liverpool. The entrance to the Mersey Tunnel.

tis indeed! its a Model 67 to be exact :) someone had sent it to me last year,  and where a bit confused by it as they thought the tunnel had Motorway style restrictions so it would not be allowed to drive through the tunnel, now I dont know what sort of traffic resitrictions the tunnel has/had but I cleared that up just on the fact that Legally most fulled bodied machines are not actually considered invalid carriages for the purpose of such restrictions so if there was a "No Invalid carriages" sign it would not apply to the Acedes

Could be one of several things. The UK is not the only RHD market. This photo was taken pre change over day in Sweden. Plus some Italians preferred RHD cars.

Those periscopes on cars towing caravans were as common as Invacares in my youth.

You've got me on the coach to the left (and right) of Central Coaches of Walsall Duple bodied Ford (the nearest), perhaps @Inspector Morose may know being his neck of the woods...

Leave me with the easy ones, why don’t you?!

On the right is a Yeates bodied something or other but on the left has me a bit confused. Early pantograph action points towards something continental but that windscreen surround looks a bit Harrington to me. Dunno.

It used to puzzle me as to what those periscopes were for, now I know. Caravanners do seem to like a gadget.

You may have nailed it there as I'd forgotten about them and they did fit pantograph wipers to the Legionnaire bodywork.

But that must be about 1960. There was never any flooding then surely?
