anonymous user Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Funnily enough I saw one of these at a boot sale in Cardiff a few weeks ago, in brown, they are delightfully awful D-Dubya 1
D-Dubya Posted May 5, 2014 Author Posted May 5, 2014 Funnily enough I saw one of these at a boot sale in Cardiff a few weeks ago, in brown, they are delightfully awful in brown sir? you have trumped me on this one!
brickwall Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 These things used to crop up quite regularly. As above, ridiculously awful and tempting.
Guest Breadvan72 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Wowza, that opens up a whole new world of suckage. Just when you thought that the automotive depths had been well and truly plumbed, along comes some new piece of goppingly spectacular shitbucket chod-a-arama to confound your expectations. chaseracer, Skoze, Vince70 and 1 other 4
Craig the Princess Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 £550 for that, are mini engine owners going to pay that for a 1 litre engine??
vulgalour Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 It gives wheelchair users the opportunity to travel in dignity. No, that can't be right. Maybe it's for midget Popes. Yeah, that must be it. Midget Popes. nacho man, inconsistant, Asimo and 13 others 16
Guest Breadvan72 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 If I don't get paid soon I will be forced to buy this heap to live in. Could be a Plan. If I need a square meal and a night in the warm, I can always up next to a primary school at 3.30 pm and hand out sweeties from the back door.
chaseracer Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 How floppy must THAT be? They were never renowned for their stiffness, even when properly erected. And I do mean the Papal Metro...
Pillock Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I imagine if you take a corner too enthusiastically all the windows in the roof will just pop out
D-Dubya Posted May 5, 2014 Author Posted May 5, 2014 i've found a brown one..... (with an invacar in the background) HMC, ProgRocker and brickwall 3
fordperv Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 theres a blue metro chairman local that i see occasionally, its awesome
Bobthebeard Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 The new Bini line up is just crying out for this treatment! A new bigger and more bloated model....The Mini Chairman. Great* Craig the Princess and alf892 2
Squire_Dawson Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 A Chairman Metro, also available in MG Metro Turbo guise (seriously).
RedSparrow Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 My word, that's one of the most depressing vehicles I've ever seen. Bobthebeard and HMC 2
Bobthebeard Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 My word, that's one of the most depressing vehicles I've ever seen.Indeed....The upstairs windscreen wiper was particularly depressing! Dunno why.
bub2006 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Am i alone in thinking that would make an awesome camper? Living the high life right there
PhilA Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Am i alone in thinking that would make an awesome camper? Living the high life right there If you want to sleep upright, or rather, folded in half, sure. --Phil
HMC Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 A sort of pope mobile for a religious leader in financial difficulties.
Lukas Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Imagine sitting in a wheelchair while being driven around in that. Everyone on the road staring at you. Can there be a more embarrassing situation? Horrible!
Squire_Dawson Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 We are forgetting that in days of yore there was a much more interesting and diverse variety of vehicles on the road. Taken in its proper context, it is surely an admirable attempt to mobilise those unable to make use of the ordinary means of locomotion.
Mr_Bo11ox Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 As if having no legs or whatever was not enough of a downer, imagine having to travel about in that. The conversion probs cost as much as the metro (more if you started off with a City X mingebag chariot) i just asked the new ms_nuts what she'd reckon to me picking her up for a date in that, she says she'd simply tell me to 'f**k off and not come back EVER'. chaseracer 1
r.welfare Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Converted in my home town those Chairmans. A world away from the converted people carriers you see advertised in the Sunday papers these days.
trigger Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 There was a disability car display on at Coventry motor museum when i went, as Bo11ox says, as if being disabled wasn't grim enough. I know I've posted these before but for the benefit of younger viewers... Semi-C, anonymous user, brickwall and 2 others 5
Noel Tidybeard Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 The new Bini line up is just crying out for this treatment! A new bigger and more bloated model....The Mini Chairman. Great*sorry alreadt been done anonymous user and brickwall 2
jakebullet Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Add a small freezer and have the worlds most dismal metro ice cream van? Craig the Princess 1
the judge Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 I thought the councils over the country reclaimed all of those Invicars??? Instead giving out Merivas and suchlike to families of the Invicar-lid? Good old 70's,can't tie your own shoelaces? Good. Here is your new upturned bathtub Invicar Spackerchops.* *Spackerchops was a PC word in the 70's,along with retard etc
mercrocker Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 What that Metro really needs is another conversion so you can drive it from the wheelchair position and scare the shit out of everyone. eddyramrod 1
Richard Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 You can do that in an Elswick Envoy. SambaS, trigger, Lacquer Peel and 4 others 7
Guest Breadvan72 Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 I had a pupil once who had been paralysed from the mid chest down when, as a child, a drunken lorry driver steered his rig into the side of her father's car. Travelling with her for work was an education for me. The woman has two Doctorates and is a recorded concert pianist. People assumed me to be her carer and asked me, more or less in terms, if she took sugar. I had a huge beef with the twattish porter at the Inner Temple when he complained that putting a ramp at the library steps got in the way of "normal people". This was only about 15 years ago. She had a boggo LHD Golf that had been fitted with hand controls. She would heave herself in, throw her wheelchair in the back, and drive off. I often came with as we could park right outside courts and meetings. She drove at great speed and with fair skill. Some Dub twat once stole her number plates (she is German and her plates were real German plates) . Skizzer, eddyramrod and brickwall 3
